*while I agree the Huskers could use/probably miss Akana's serve the caveat to this stat is that it was against like the #250 team in the country let’s not forget she also had 7 aces against Texas last year Whitney has 28 aces this season and Akana has 29 so I would argue that whit can go on runs just as much as Akana can which is impressive considering she didn’t serve at all last year

Akana had 42 aces last year as a Husker and this year Nebraska has played 31 matches and Texas has only played 25 so that also factors into their numbers being so close. Akana is, in my opinion and based on stats, a better server than Whitney

Both are incredible servers but I think Akana has the edge over Whitney

Proud of the seniors for their fight and resilience... All deserved to go out on a higher note. Not enough wiggle room for the fight at the end. missed chances and miscues are a poor way to end a season Cook needs to be better... a disaster from him and co.

It has been an HONOR watching the careers of Kenzie, Nicklin and Madi unfold. What an amazing group of young women that leave so much to be proud of.

This team never lived up to the press clippings. They never embraced getting to Omaha like passed teams did. What a disappointment!

Great group of team focused athletes. Enjoyed watching them. Injuries hurt some, but so did playing two years with scrambled positions. Difficult for the young talents to settle in and really develop. Played hard all year, no doubt.

Sense some negativity. Understandable I guess. Lots of shifting roles this season. IMO the biggest weakness was never finding consistent play at setter at a level needed for a final 4 team.
Then they lost Kenzie and Nicklin appeared to be hurt in the tournament to the extent that it visibly hindered her play IMO. I suspect possibly a chronic back injury issue.
Plenty of things to build on. Three very good sophomore hitters that all look 6 rotation capable. Great libero. Two very capable freshman middles, both with potential to be great. Maise is a capable DS and SS. Hayden has potential, but playing behind those 3 sophmores. And 5 very talented freshman joining in January.
Interested to see if there are any players transfer out, and if so what the transfer portal may provide. My opinion, highest priority is setter. If not either Orr (currently inconsistent) or Reilly (a freshman) will need to step up.
Doubt we will see much 6-2 in 2023.
The 2022 team gave us some great matches and play. Enjoyed the season, although late they struggled a bit versus very good teams. They played hard thru injuries and adversity IMO. Good season, not great, but good. Definite future potential for great.
Thank you lady Huskers for your hard work and exciting play. GBR!
