It appears the “family 4-pack” of GA tix has gone the way of the Dodo bird…. That was an insane value of like $2 per seat some years😀

I was just looking at the seating chart some more (in light of conversation with the guys at the ticket office), and I notice that the first row of section A is now all handicapped.
The wait-in-line-for-hours front-row guys don't even get to be the front-row guys anymore!
How many different wrong decisions in how to do this did they make?!?

Some of this is driven by Federal regulations they have to comply with for ADA requirements. That’s likely the #1 reason for the entire front row of the west side (P, Q, R, & S) becoming handicap seating.

As our staff is frantically making dozens of phone calls, who is answering. Who are the three or four most desired 2024 recruits to continue our dominance over Nebraska?

The one thing they have done here that I'm A-OK with is the handicapped seating somewhere 'off the floor'. No problem at all with better and expanded options for handicapped. But do you have to displace the front row guys to do it? The TV people *love* the line outside for hours, *love* the visual of the mad dash to the GA seats etc. And you take away the seats the leaders of that whole phenomenon? No. Find another option.

No $hit, the 14 of us are not happy at all, we figured this out when the seating chart came out last week. I would really like to see what they did to "our" seats. I know some have renewed in the GA section, some have applied for the Gold section, I am thinking about the Bucky Balcony section.

I could be completely wrong - and I hope I am - but the Balcony looks to me to be an area for "cocktails" where only the people standing at the rail will be able to see anything at all. Schmoozing and not actually watching VB. Saying "I go to UW VB" without having to know anything about VB or actually watch the match, etc. (Rather like my reaction to "comfy chairs" in the gold sections, as the day has worn on. I'm not going to a cocktail lounge! I don't care about "seat backs" or how "comfy" the chair is. I'm hoping for edge-of-my-seat excitement. If I'm on the edge of my seat, who cares if there's a seatback?) Good luck to you guys.

I like cocktails and Rainbow can attest. (Not enough to miss volleyball, nor to engage in schmoozing. Yuck!!)

You all are beating this topic to death and venting about things none of us can control. As recruits are getting bombarded with information and trying to make decisions, I wonder what they and their parents are thinking of our fanbase as they are reading through all of this. It’s more fun to come on here and read about potential recruits and the upcoming season. Team scrimmage in 9 weeks! I'd be more concerned about the worse seats that recruits and their families are now going to get on their visits than what gets said here.

It’s more fun to come on here and read about potential recruits and the upcoming season. Team scrimmage in 9 weeks! I think it's fine for long standing fans to discuss how they are going to manage access to matches in the future now that the program is increasingly successful and things are changing. That's why the forum exists -- for fans to discuss things that affect them related to volleyball. What the prospective student athletes should take from the conversation is that fans care, A LOT, about volleyball at Wisconsin. It gives them a good sense of the amazing level of commitment student athletes will find when they get here. You only get upset about what you care about. They will also learn that sometimes powers-that-be make decisions that are not optimal. That's true across all institutions, including all universities. It's a good lesson in life. Anyone who says anything different about their institution is selling a bill of goods and can't be trusted.

VT is for the volley freaks. If they don't like that, they should look for the tepid coverage in daily news outlets or "all-sports" blogs that mention volleyball only when there's a Final Four team.
