I didn't say that was the only scenario but to think it's a rumor and just that is silly. Isn’t it the very definition of a rumor? Anyway. Bucky’s remark is that they are here now. Wrobel isn’t transferring until the season is over. It will be interesting to see what happen this year. Demps has had an impact off the bench. Wrobel eventually could too. When have the badgers had such depth at the hitting position? Also we have had situations where someone broke into the starting lineup later in the year. Loberg comes to mind. And next year the lineup changes, maybe the system changes, she gets a DS and Wrobel could get her chance. With Jardine, I think it was right for her to go. She would not start and I don’t think she’d do well in this offense. She’s doing ok at Utah. Wrobel has a real chance to play. No. It's conjecture. 🙄

You guys are trying to guess the lineup two years from now, and we don't really knowwhat the lineup will be two weeks from now?!?

Anyone know if Wrobel has a reputation as a good passer? Would be interesting to see if Franklin could move to Opp with Wrobel at OH in future.

Has anybody noticed the 'grunts' or whatever? I have not. I sat fairly close to the court and the left pin last year, and sit even closer to the court - though maybe not to the 'first set' left pin - and haven't ever noticed. I'll try to remember to listen for it.

Maybe it's more obvious in practice when Punzel watches? Anyway, Julia is a 4.0 student despite taking courses in a second language.

Maybe it's more obvious in practice when Punzel watches? Anyway, Julia is a 4.0 student despite taking courses in a second language. I used to live and work in suburban Los Angeles, and worked with individuals from all over the world; I can remember instances where I was in the middle of a discussion of some work-related problem, and realized that of the half-dozen people involved I was the only native English speaker. I can remember being told by three or four or them that when you're studying and learning that second language, you're working hard at it and you're getting 5% of what's being said, and then you're getting 10%, etc, and then just about literally overnight you go from 10% to 80% or 90%; something just flips the switch. I assume Julia had her "80%" moment before she got to UW, but how long before might be a question. They did also mention, as the article does, the 'thinking and dreaming in English' stage of the development as a common milestone. (One of thing commonly mentioned was how much easier a second language is when you are one-on-one with someone in a quiet environment, as opposed to group conversations or a noisy environment with lots of background noise. In a bar or restaurant, or the huddle during a timeout in a noisy arena. :-)

I was thinking the discussion was this year's decisions impacting next year(other than a tangent about wrobel sitting for 3 years). Given the stuff that is brought up here, I'd say that discussion is relatively reasonable/interesting.

Wondering how many times did Anna's parents call Sheffield this season?
Just joking.

I'll try to remember to listen for it. I notice it all the time. She's been doing more, but did it last year too. Reminds of me of a women's professional tennis player (Monica Seles?) who used to always make high-pitched noises on her serve.

Seles? Maybe. I thought Steffi Graf was more known for those sounds she made. Either way, I think there’s a noticeable difference between how Julia’s topspin serve sounds and a regular attack at the pin. The former is MUCH louder.

Off Topic Post Loudest grunting female tennis players. According to Sportskeeda.com 1. Michelle Larcher DeBrito 109 decibles 2. Maria Sharapova 101 3. Monica Seles 93.2 4. Serena Williams 88.9 5. Venus Williams 85 There are multiple recordings on line. Hoping to see a volleyball grunt recording posted after tonight's match. Really noticeable with Seles and the Williams sisters. Why I quit watching those players. Totally exxagerated and unnecessary. Haven't heard Orzol on TV or when at the game 'grunting'. Not sure why it's newsworthy? 🤔
