Great win yesterday to stay in control of their own destiny for a B1G title. This team is so much fun and I can't believe just 3 years ago the bulk of this team were freshman getting swept at home to Northwestern to essentially guarantee a 3rd straight year without the tournament. Coming into this year I really wanted this team to finally get past that Sweet 16 hurdle and play a match for the Final 4, but now just that would feel like a disappointment with what this team has shown they are capable of. Obviously the answer is both, but which drought from 1994 would you rather break, the B1G title or the Final Four? I think I lean slightly towards the conference championship, because it can be easier to make a run deep in the tournament and not win the conference, as shown by all the B1G school who have made it to the final four and haven't won the conference in the last 15 years. Give me the B1G title. That's far harder to win imo, and a greater achievement than simply a Final Four. Also I'm pretty sure that one of those Carlston teams were able to fluke into a FF if they got some breaks against either of the UWs 100% agree. That 2015 team without the trashcan problem beats Washington and then would have played Nebraska, who they had already beat in Lincoln and Sandbothe had extra magic against the huskers. |

Agree with both of you. I’ve actually been thinking about that since last night’s win and I just want that B1G banner, anything that comes after that is icing on the cake. Tournament runs have so many variables that go into it but winning a round robin league as tough as the B1G is much tougher and a much better measure of the strength of any given team than an elimination style tournament.

The irony of all this is that this is the first final four that I am COMPLETELY incapable of attending... and it's the one that the Nuts have the absolute best opportunity of making.

I couldn't watch today and knowing the result I can't get myself to watch the replay. I know Murr missed, but what happened? Were we constantly oos from bad passing?
I'm now hoping for a split next weekend so we can stay on the #2 line and not fall to being an underdog in the sweet 16 matchup again. This weekend feels like the Purdue weekend during JFO's first year all over again. So disappointing.

Only information about return status from senior night is that Powell is going to Clemson next year. No announcements on if anyone else is for sure done or is planning on taking a bonus covid year. There were a lot of emotions from the seniors though, so my guess assumption will be they aren't coming back until we know otherwise.

Ohio State will be in the final four. (I will not be available for the foreseeable future to take questions on how I expect them to beat the teams they’re supposed to beat to get there, they just will)
