.......And the love fest continues. A top Nebraska assistant is and always has been a great candidate for any job. That’s simply fact and has nothing g to do with whatever he will or won’t be as a head coach. That’s not really even debatable. Head coaches at Kentucky, Louisville, Illinois, Ole Miss……..nobody with maybe the exception of you has pumped the brakes on anointing him the next big thing than I have

I know but this has some extra special zing. Tyler obviously draws a great deal of attention and oxygen. It’s interesting. If we had a celebrity coach, he would be it.

Every time I read your posts trying to defend this ridiculous situation, I am reminded of the phrase "whistling past the graveyard". everytime a read these posts, I think of 'much ado about nothing' - slobruins = hyperbole someone needs to look up ridiculous in the dictionary to learn the meaning of the word Keep trying to justify it. I am sure there is one person on this board, other than an LBS fan, who you will convince.

I should give credit where it's due. Andy Fee is an innovator in cost containment measures.

You don't think so, apparently Tyler and Knipe do and they have credibility about this in spades over you. The Men's and Women's both wanted Nick in this capacity, and they worked this out, and if they believe it's workable, then I'd put stock in their judgement versus yours in spades, especially regarding the 'club scene' in SoCal as collectively the LB staffs probably have 100+ years experience and you probably have around 0. Will it save costs, I'm sure there's an element of that, but I doubt that that is overall the driver, probably 75$k or so. And even if it does save costs, well it's costs that can go to out of Cali schollie costs or whatever they need to make the programs better. So keep up with teh hyperbole, and falling all over yourself to take pot-shots.

Good God...we're up to page 38 and it looks like the Husker Baby Jesus (AKA "TH") STILL hasn't been returned to His preordained place in the manger next to John Cook's office suite overlooking Devaney. Is there no one who can track Him down, perhaps nestled in the reeds where the L.A. River empties into the ocean in Long Beach? Are we left with only the plaintive mutterings of our VT prophets until He is returned?

I dont know what started your debate but this (sharing assistant) is usually done because of lack of resources. But in their conference maybe it isn’t issue: but the staffs in P5 and this conference maybe not fair comparison ok, and that doesn't mean that that is the rationale in this case. as to P5 conferences, well, how relevent is it really with P5, because only UCLA, USC, Stanford, Ohio State, and Penn State sponsor both men's and women's volleyball from the P5s. not much of a sample size. my point is it's a challenge, and some of these posts just make it out like the it's some major issue that's a show-stopper. I don’t know about show stopper: but during recruiting season the will be one assistant short. Sharing saves dollars and cause more work for 2 coaches not being shared! In season in gym you get three coaches out if season recruiting and other responsibilities you get 2 coaches!

More importantly, I m sure Tyler is not concerned about the workload. and comforting that VT is praying extensively that Tyler and his staff are not overburdened. I would venture that there are about 300+ head coaches out there that have more concerns about recruiting than Tyler does

Just because it hasn't been done before doesn't mean it can't work. I think its fair to say we would all rather work with people we know are competent and trustworthy. I hope it works for them but am also confident they are smart enough to know if it doesn't.
