Yes, it's a question. Oregon has just one year with her, though. And unlike WSU, she doesn't have four years of "connection" between herself, her passers, and her hitters. So we'll see how fast she adjusts to Oregon and how fast Oregon adjusts to her. Oregon is not likely going to completely 100% retool around Pukis given that they know she's "one and done" with them. she has 2 years of eligbility but idk if she'll use it Really? I guess I lost count. I thought she had played four years at WSU, so only had the one COVID bonus year left. If she still has two years to play, that does maybe make a difference.

It is going to be very hard to predict which players will and won't use their 5th or 6th years. The better players will have more pro opportunities with Covid restrictions easing (Butler), some will transfer if the pro opportunities aren't were they want them to be yet (Caffey and Pukis), and some will decide to hang it up and then "unretire" (Gabriel). I was told a long time ago to only bet serious money on pro sports, never college. There is some reliability in the way pros react, but trying to predict the actions of 19 and 20 year olds will surely turn you gray and probably also make you broke.

It's also quite possible that some athletes just want to get a grad degree and will use this extra year to help pay for it. Not everybody wants to be a pro athlete, even if they are great college athletes. I have no idea what Pukis wants. But I'm not going to assume all her decisions are based around the possibility of playing pro volleyball. Not unless she says so.

(After they tri-peat as Pac champions. )

Colorado is returning all players from last year (minus Ewert) + All PAC Freshman/Volleyball Mag Freshman Team, Parker, after her injury redshirt last year + gaining Hadrych from UCLA. Would be cool if DeLuzio can set Colorado to the NCAA Sweet 16 like she did her Freshman year, but I'd be happy if Colorado could finish in the top half of the PAC. I think DeLuzio or Simpson will be a better fit at setter this year with the types of hitters the Buffs have. Looks like she is having a bit of fun for her final roster picture...

Here are my preseason predictions (going bold here): 1. Stanford 2. USC 3. Oregon 4. Washington 5. UCLA 6. Washington State 7. Arizona State 8. Colorado 9. Arizona 10. Utah 11. Oregon State 12. Cal
Edit: I think the top 4 could finish in any order. UCLA, WSU & ASU are in tier 2. Then CU, AZ & Utah are in tier 3. OSU & Cal at the bottom.
POY: Nuneviller FOY: Wilson SOY: Pukis LOY: Bays COY: Keller

Mac May and Zoe Fleck we’re phenomenal Bruins but come on now, there is a decent amount of experience coming back on this team and some added pieces that could be really solid for UCLA.

she was seriously one of the nicest coaches I’ve ever held a conversation with. talked to me and a fellow manager for like half an hour during their serve & pass. rooting for her until given a reason not to
