Oregon State coach, Mark Barnard, to Retire at the end of the 2022 Volleyball Season. Wonder if this was solely his choice, or offered to retire as he was going to be let go. Either way it is the right move. I would say...and even wager...that Barnard is going away with a "don't let the door hit your derriere on the way out" kind of scenario. Those claims of alleged abuse combined with his non-sterling reputation in the VB world makes this an easy out for both sides. The accusing SAs may be gone, but old dogs.... The Oregon State Volleyball website is very odd. From 2011 (earliest date listed) to 2015 Mark Barnard is listed as the associate head coach, but there is no head coach listed. Why have they removed all reference to Terry Liskevych?

Either way it is the right move. Could this usher in a new wave of dominance by the Beavers, or will it be business as usual with Oregon St occupying the lower tier of the Pac-12?

I doubt they’ll have any sort of big turn around within the decade, but I could see a new coach scheduling extremely easy in non-con so they’re somewhat of an asset to the PAC (a la Auburn this season)

I know nothing of any alleged wrong-doing by Barnard, or of other rumors posted here without any evidence offered. I can say from personal interactions with Mark that he is a very nice guy. I wish him the best in retirement, if that is what he is doing.

I had also had some very nice interaction with Coach Bernard. Wish him well going forward. As far as Oregon State goes, I remember the TL era was supposed to be a big turning point as well but couldn't get things going other than the random runs with Mary Kate Marshall.

So, what are the PAC teams projected RPI going into selection show tomorrow? Does it look like making it in will be Stan, Oregon, WSU, USC, WA, and COL? Maybe UCLA?

If I am reading it right, it looks like Colorado will be 44, so on the bubble with a good chance of getting in. UCLA at 58 is ROUGH. Not sure when the last time a team with an RPI that high got in, so that's looking really dicey. The rest you mentioned are in comfortably.

Yeah seems like COL has done enough to get in, with wins over USC, WA, and WSU. UCLA is unlikely, despite their two good wins vs. Hawaii and WSU.
