Ryan has done such a great job with this new team without Pressley.

McGhee is about to have a breakout year with Carlson setting her Through the first 8 matches, Kara is averaging 2.03 kills on a .434 hitting percentage with 1.48 blocks/set. Certainly looking like the breakout season I was hoping for. It's still early obviously, but she is having an All-American start to the year.

Ryan has done such a great job with this new team without Pressley. I've seen many hesitant to give him the credit he deserves, questioning how his teams would perform in the post-Pressley era. Well we're finally here and he has this young team in a good position. They probably wish to have that Pepperdine match back, but outside of that, he has to be proud of how this team has been competing.

Baylor outhit UNT .372 to .056 to sweep -6, -22, -20. Faith Lynch made her setting debut as Baylor ran a 6-2. That’s five straight sweeps for the Bears.

Baylor picked up their 7th straight win and 6th straight sweep last night against Tulsa. Harrison was not available and not even sure she was in the gym. Maybe concussion or sickness?? Hopefully nothing serious.
Elise McGhee started in her spot and surprisingly played 6 rotations. She honestly looks much better on the outside than the rightside, going 12-3-29 (.310) along with 7 digs last night.
Her sister, Kara, also had 12 kills and 3 errors.
Another fun stat is Talbert with 6 digs.

Baylor finished the weekend completing their 8th straight sweep, with all 3 wins coming without Harrison. Hopefully she’ll be back soon, but Baylor’s young depth at the outside is doing enough.
Kara McGhee is continuing her breakout season, being crowned MVP of the tournament after averaging 3.56 kills/set on .414 hitting percentage and 2.22 blocks/set (DPOW??).
I’m rooting for her to continue this All-American year (and for her to use her 5th year next season).

Do we know if the L commit is a walkon or scholarship player?

Harrison still out for Baylor tonight against TCU. She is standing on the sideline but not dressed to play. McGhee at the other OH position was Davis as the DS.
Ryan McGuyre is facing off against his former assistant coach and 3 former players tonight.

Tied 11-11, Baylor went on a 14-2 run to win set 1.
Briseño aced Polk at least 3 times. That’s a little poetic.

Maybe there’s a plan for her to be a middle… that’s certainly Baylor’s biggest need if McGhee doesn’t come back
