Don't suppose you have an idea of who is scholarship vs. walk-on? Would be interested to see how many scholarships RM has to play with in the Portal. Also, does this mean that Callie Williams is done?

Baylor lost 11 players to graduation, including All-Americans Yossiana Pressley, Hannah Sedwick, and Avery Skinner. This will be a very, very young Baylor team with only 2 seniors and 2 juniors. Baylor has recruited well to transition into this new era without the duo of Pressley and Sedwick but Yossiana was a once in a lifetime player that will never be replaced- truly the greatest player in Baylor history.
The returning leader of the team will be Lauren Harrison, who I believe actually has two years of eligibility left despite just graduating. She was a great supplement piece to Pressley and Skinner and should step into the spotlight with those two gone. I would imagine she becomes a 6-rotation player next year. The other returning starter is Kara McGhee in the middle. She has never really seemed to reach her potential on the offensive end but is a solid defensive presence for Baylor. Hopefully her offense grows in the offseason.
Briseño should be the lock at libero as she was Baylor's best passer this season. She was really impressive as a freshman and I am excited to see her take over the position next season.
Averi Carlson will most likely run the show in a 5-1 offense. She is a phenomenal athlete with great hands and the top rated setter in her class.
The rest of the positions are wide open for taking. Elise McGhee did see some time on the right side and was on the Big 12 Freshman team, but Allie Sczech is a lefty with a heavy arm that could challenge for the spot. I imagine Baylor goes after some transfers, particularly a middle blocker and a DS, but with the current roster, my starting lineup would be:
OH: Lauren Harrison OH: Riley Simpson MB: Kara McGhee MB: Alicia Andrew S: Averi Carlson OPP: Allie Sczech DS: Alexis Dacosta L: Lauren Briseño

Also, does this mean that Callie Williams is done? All 11 seniors were honored at senior night. Callie has publicly stated that she is done with volleyball and is moving into her career. I believe there are 1 or 2 scholarships to work with but I am not 100% sure on that.

If RM has the scholarships available, wouldn't he also want an experienced setter? I watched Carlson some and agree she's great, but she's not injury-proof. Don't know anything about Molly Kipp

Don't know anything about Molly Kipp I could definitely see him grabbing a setter with a year of eligibility left. He does have Harley Kreck coming in for 2023 so I don’t think he’d want to jam up the position anymore than that.

Don't know anything about Molly Kipp I think you take your chances with Carlson and Kipp is there if needed. If he has scholaships available I'd target attackers, those OH's aren't amazing.

I'm less worried about the outsides than I am the middles. Harrison has earned First-Team All Conference in all 3 of her seasons (1 ACC, 2 Big 12). The other outside joining her will be young, yes, but Simpson and Dacosta are both players with a lot of potential. Dacosta is the #5 recruit in the nation and Simpson was #51. They both still have to prove themselves but certainly a good foundation to build from.

I'd be surprised if Baylor doesn't get a transfer middle. I think this could still be a good team, just not the top 10, final four caliber team that we've seen in recent years. Excited to see how Carlson does with them.

I am trying to remember Simpson in Club from a couple years ago - I was thinking she was playing RS? If I was Baylor and had one scholarship for a transfer - I am thinking an OH before a MB.
Carlson has got to be setter day 1. There is no reason to bring in another scholarship setter for next year.

Her only playtime came in the exhibition match against Texas A&M and she was playing on the outside. I just trust the young depth at outside much more than in the middle. If Baylor does go after an outside, maybe we see Elise McGhee transition to the middle.

Or - this would be too confusing - Elise McGhie from Kansas

I just thought the bigger impact was at the pin if limited with $$
