Baylor is lucky to land an assistant head coach like Coach Walker. Experienced two-time National Champion with men program. Good luck to him and looking for fantastic season on what he'll bring to Baylor.

With the roster looking set, I think the lineup to open the season would be:
OH: Harrison OH: Simpson or E. McGhee DS: Dacosta MB: Talbert MB: K. McGhee OPP: Sczech DS: Keene S: Carlson L: Briseno

What are your ballpark expectations for the conference and tournament, understanding everything is subject to change?

McGhee OPP: Sczech DS: Keene S: Carlson L: Briseno Is Harrison expected to play 6 rotations? I would think so with both Pressley and Skinnner gone. She started off playing 6 rotations when she first got to Baylor. She was actually a pretty steady passer last season.

What are your ballpark expectations for the conference and tournament, understanding everything is subject to change? I’m actually really excited for this season and think McGuyre has a solid foundation to move forward in the post-Pressley era. He’s recruiting well and has always used the transfer portal to his advantage. I am interested to see what recruiting looks like with Erger gone though- her and Williams were great assistants. Baylor is definitely rebuilding but doing it with very talented freshmen. All 4 of the original class should have an immediate impact with Carlson leading the way. While the freshmen will have to step up quickly, they’re doing it with good seniors around them. Harrison is a great player, just overshadowed by the other pins that were around her. She’s very capable of leading this team and being the go to. McGhee and Talbert are experienced middles. Getting Talbert was huge for this season. Big difference between her and one of the redshirt freshmen playing. And then there’s Briseno who is an absolute stud. With all that said, it’s going to take time for all of it to come together. If McGuyre schedules non-conference like he has been in the last few years, there will definitely be some growing pains but could mature the youngsters quickly going into conference. I don’t expect Baylor to fall out of the top 3 in the Big 12 and believe they’re capable of making it to the second weekend of the NCAA tournament.

I see that Minnesota will be at TCU in August to play both Baylor and TCU. Bought my airline tickets and got my car reserved for the trip. No hotel room yet. I think even without Samedy we will be improved. Excited to play one of the best programs and fan base in the country.

Certainly not nearly as tough of a schedule as the last the 2019 and 2021 seasons but still good competition. Having Wisconsin and Minnesota early will be good for the young squad.

Pepperdine is obviously not top 5 caliber like Wisconsin or Minnesota, but they have a shot at breaking the top 25 by season’s end. Colorado State has a good program. Arizona State is in the PAC 12. They’re not one of the top teams, but they’ve been competitive at times. This seems like a good year for Baylor to dial it back a notch scheduling wise from last season.
