These commitments were made a few days ago but I wanted to get them on the Baylor thread as well. I’m super excited for Davis. She’s a leaper, could be the next Pressley or Butler type of athlete. A great get!

With the roster finally all settled for the season, there should be a good balance between experience and the young talent.
The two very experienced middles, K. McGhee and Talbert, will surely start alongside Harrison on the outside and Briseño at libero. Carlson is the obvious lock at setter. I have no clue what happens with the other outside and opposite position. It’ll be between E. McGhee, Simpson, and Sczech. My guess is Dacosta DS’s for an OH and Keene for the OPP.

I know there aren't a ton of Baylor fans to interact with on here, but I really appreciate your input on this site. Also, don't forget that the ratio of lurkers to posters is insane. Look at the view count of the thread. Look at the bottom of the page at how many people are looking at the site who are logged in versus how many who aren't. Baylor is going to be a very intriguing team to follow all season long. It does feel like this season is more of a transition year, but who knows? And yes, it's beyond odd to see Texas have a bigger roster than Baylor. By three players, even!

McGhee, Simpson, Sczech, and Davis all being 6'4"-ish

I wouldn’t say Baylor is completely rebuilding because they have a very solid foundation for the young players to plug into. I’m really excited for Harrison. She has been a first team Big 12 pick twice and an HM All-American, and that was while playing with Pressley and Skinner. She’s a very capable go-to scorer who may finally get the chance to break through as a six rotation player.

She wouldn’t be my first option, but you’re right that it is nice to have such depth at the pins. That spring game in general had to have been very beneficial for Baylor’s youth. 4/5 freshmen enrolled early and got a full spring season. Those four all played prominent roles for Baylor in the spring so getting a chance to suit up in that environment at least introduces them to the gameday experience.

Also, I don’t think it’ll happen this year, but I fully expect Allie Sczech to be a 6-rotation OPP by the time she graduates.

Based on a short podcast I heard from Ryan McGuire, I might guess Elise McGhee is the other outside with Harrison. She could play pop but I feel like Sczech over Simpson might be the route to go. I think Simpson and McGhee both are more terminal than Davis. Davis a bit more consistent in that you know what you are getting but the ceiling is much higher for the other two.

Interestingly, it seems like Keene is starting as libero and Dacosta on the outside for green team

Looks like Harrison/Dacosta started on outside for Green with Sczech at OPP and for Gold it was Simpson/Davis at outside with E. McGhee at OPP.
I never really had Dacosta in consideration for an outside spot because I thought she would be sticking to defense, but I’m also not at the scrimmage and don’t know if she’s actually playing front row.
*edit: Dacosta is playing front row, hmmm….

Because I am hoping to watch Baylor vs Minnesota, there is talk on the Gopher thread about reaching out to TCU to get the Baylor/Minnesota game on ESPN+. If anyone else wants to reach out, it might help.
