Not worried about Amber Igiede, she is being cared of by Bank of Hawaii. The Wahine Team, to a player, know that something very special is going to occur next year. For that reason, I do not see any of the players leaving. I keep thinking about the makeup of that 1987 National Championship Team, next year's team will be just like that one. I know, different era, but.... That team was undersized, but it had a lot of heart. They also played with something to prove. These Wahine players will want to prove that this match with LSU was a fluke, it was not who the Wahine Team is. Credit LSU. This wasn’t a fluke. Hawaii got outplayed and beaten at a part of the game they’re supposed to be better at. Teams have to be on all the time in the NCAA’s because the margin for error is too narrow. The only thing LSU did was expose the Wahine weakness, all season, which was at Opposite. By not getting any production out of that position, it made the Wahine an Outside and Middle team only. Cannot win in the NCAA Tournament by relying on only 2 positions. To win in the NCAA Tournament, you need production from all positions. But for the Wahine, help is on the way, in Tali and Stella.

Why would anyone transfer out because of a loss in the first round? take a look at Creighton and Washington also out in the first round. Hawaii had a good season, they will be even better next year, Amber is loyal to Hawaii, got the recognition at UH she deserves, on the collegiate national team, tops in the nation on hitting percent she’s in a good place! If Annika can’t get kills in the big west I don’t see her going to any better school. What made you think she’d go to a better school ? Lol shed go to a school where she could get playing time.. like a riverside..

Not worried, cause I know I will get the last laugh. Not only will the Wahine Team be a Top 25 team, but a Top 10, maybe even Top 5 Team next year. Did you get hit in the head with a volleyball recently? LOL My guess is he did lol 😂 crazy stuff!!!

Thought we had it in us to make some noise this tourney but we just looked flat today. And of course LSU played real scrappy D. Oh well… Looking forward to next season. Hopefully we can be solid enough to host at least the first two rounds next year and help the big senior class get deeper into the tournament.

I hope Robyn stacks the pre-conference schedule, cause next year's Wahine Team will be ready for some High Level Competition. Even if it is all Top 10 competition, I do not really care. I strongly feel the Wahine Team will be ready, and willing to face those teams. But not only that, BEAT THEM!!!! We will almost assuredly be taking a trip to Ohio so that Riley's family can see her play near home.

The reason I am so optimistic, this Wahine Team showed HEART, something you cannot really teach. They were just missing a couple of pieces. Those pieces are coming next year, in the form of 4 players, Tali, Stella, Kennedi, and Jackie. Yeah they did show a lot of heart this evening. You start there. It is not like this Wahine Team does not have talent, they do. Like I mentioned just missing a couple of pieces. I truly believe, Robyn took a BIG Gamble in Red Shirting Jackie Matias. Believe Jackie Matias, could have really pushed Lang, or even made a difference in the back row. Will be interesting to see how Robyn uses Matias next year. Also, liked the progress Tiffany Westerberg made this season. Expecting Big Things from her next season. Also, expecting Big Things from Calyn Alexander next year. I am talking a Teee Williams kind of year. Not to mention, Robyn already is comparing Stella, to Kanani Danielson and Kim Willoughby, and this girl has not even put on a Wahine uniform yet.

Wagoner, Igiede and Alexander had 20, 16 and 15 kills respectively. LSU outblocked Hawai’i 14-8 and had 19 hitting errors to Hawai’i’s 32. Those stats don’t fit your narrative. The LSU block threw off Hawai’i’s hitters and Lang’s setting was off, but mostly Hawai’i didn’t play with their usual grit, especially on defense.

How each player improved, even in this last match against LSU. Tiffany Westerberg especially surprised me. She showed me what she is capable of doing. She keeps improving, and she will be a Beast Next Year.

Yes, but that was from the Outside Hitter position, and Middle, nothing from the Opposite position. That will change next year. To win in the NCAA Tournament you need contribution from all 3 positions.

Most hitting errors in a game since Cal Poly, also their last loss, that kind of tells the whole story.
Last post before it is time to move on. Looking forward to next season which should be a payoff year and of course the men’s season with a good chance to threepeat

By the way, can anyone name a team in the NCAA Tournament who is returning all their Starters? Just wondering, if the Wahine is the only one.

To win in the NCAA Tournament you need contribution from all 3 positions. There are two middles. Hawai’i could use a lot more production from Westerberg. Hawai’i could definitely benefit from having a big hitter in the opposite position, but who doesn’t? That wasn’t the most important reason they lost this match.

Tough outing for the Wahine today. Just watched on YouTube as I didn't see live. They didn't have the energy they normally play with. No spectacular runs to fire them up. No spectacular individual performance to inspire the team. It just was not their day. Every team but one will end this season with a loss, and this one match does not define this Rainbow Wahine team. They played with a ton of heart and determination all season long. I could not be any happier for them and the season they had. They will be back next year, and this loss will motivate them. Congrats on a great season girls, hold your heads up high, and we will be back to back you next season.
