I've been thinking about Creighton's offense for a bit... and wanted to look a bit deeper into it and how their attacking is being distributed So looking at non-conference
Norah Sis: 574 (32.6%) Keeley Davis: 360 (20.4%) Ava Martin: 153 (8.7%) Kiana Schmitt: 269 (15.3%) Kiera Reinhardt: 166 (9.4%) Kendra Wait: 107 (6.1%) Big East - Through Marquette Match
Norah Sis: 269 (31.5%) Keeley Davis: 123 (14.4) Ava Martin: 158 (18.5%) Kiana Schmitt: 104 (12.2%) Kiera Reinhardt: 80 (9.6%) Kendra Wait: 67 (7.8%) Big East - Post MarquetteNorah Sis: 280 (35.2%) Keeley Davis: 61 (7.8%) Ava Martin: 125 (15.7%) Kiana Schmitt: 121 (15.2%) Kiera Reinhardt: 69 (9.7%) Kendra Wait: 58 (7.3%) When I started following Creighton volleyball, I think it was Jaali Winters' freshman year or about, I noticed two things. 1) Creighton over relied on one hitter, so defenses could sell out on one attacker. (by Jaali's senior year, there were others in the mix, but maybe just a 2nd real threat and then a sprinkling of others). I'm glad they spread it around with a stud (Sis) and stud in the making (Ava Martin) and have others step up when needed. 2) Creighton rarely had a setter/second touch attack. Kendra being on this list confirms how much that's changed. Both are great things and I'm glad the program is progressing to where they can have a more balanced attack with a couple studs with other very good hitters around them.

Been a few weeks, but with Marquette under the belt, (fist pump!). Thought it was time for Who Ya Rootin for again. I probably won't post the next one until after Halloween, though I have been keeping my spreadsheet updated by week. Just seemed really early to post it prior to Marquette, and now I'm getting the same vibe about 10/18 being a bit early. Still, RPI Futures are out and bracketologists are doing their thing. So, here's the teams/games/days I'm tracking this week to hopefully help with Creighton's RPI (and potential seed). This week (yesterday), Creighton was 13 and 12 to 16 were teams Creighton has played. The last few weeks have been good for Creighton from a non-conference strength perspective. Don't want to interrupt that trend, so I'll be pulling for the teams around them as well (at least for now). Who Ya Rootin For SpreadsheetHas been updated for this weekend. Not much to add this week honestly. Rice starts the CUSA Tournament, Iowa State could improve their RPI vs Baylor and Kansas, USC has showdown with Oregon, and Kentucky plays Florida twice are the most interesting matches outside of the obvious Creighton @ Marquette.

Welcome to Destiny Ndam-Simpson (OH, #31) Sydney Breissinger (L) Jaya Johnson (MB, #99) Ava TeSrake (OH/RS, #61) Audrey Clark (S) I feel like perhaps I should root for that MB, given that we practically have the same name (wonder what her middle initial is, not that it is really any of my biz) dumb question: are those numbers their uniform number or from some sort of ranking?

Sorry about bringing another sport into this, but this more about how much FloSports sucks.
Almost every time I'm watching sports, my 5 yo daughter asks "Do girls play this game?" I don't watch much football, so the answer is usually yes. And, yes we are season ticket holder to volleyball, so she does see young women compete in athletics. Tonight, CU women's basketball is hosting that other school in a top 25 matchup. It's sold out, but it's on FloSports. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. So frustrating that FoxSports doesn't have an ESPN+ type platform or NPM didn't pick this one up.

(okay, so I don't know what y'all charge for a womens game. But I seem to remember there being talk of a way to get a monthly subscription for about $13. Not something I personally would be likely to pay to watch just one game/match/etc., but if I was a fan of a Big East school and there were multiple contests in a month that I'd be interested in watching, it'd be worth it)

(but I might be wrong on that) so it'd be 13 per sport

Sometimes I find that to get to a sport other than volleyball (flovolleyball.tv) I have to go to that sport's specific site (flobaseball.tv, flosoccer.tv, etc) but the volleyball login provides access to all of the sites. Flo still sucks, though. The only collegiate conferences covered are the BE and CAA and a bunch in D2. BE would have done better to keep distributing conference productions through BEDN on Youtube for free and lettiing schools make their own choices IMO. What they really need is to return to streaming through Fox which they did before Youtube.

I checked flovolleyball and it says their subscription gives access to volleyball... but it is flo so that could be expected lol i wish they could just sell the olympic sports rights to ESPN+ like every other conference does lol

Random thoughts about several previous posts:
1) Keeley's usage rate has dropped but she's still a big part of the offense given her high amount of aces (all-time CU career leader) and service runs.
2) By Jaali's junior year, the Jays' offense, while not multi-dimensional, was at least two-dimensional with the equal threat of Taryn Kloth.
3) In terms of recruit rankings, this year's class seems to be a step down from some others recently.

If you bought a volleyball subscription, you should be able to watch Creighton baseball and soccer, Towson volleyball, Savannah Bananas baseball, random high school tournaments, a bunch of D2 football games, rodeo, autoracing, dance/cheer events, wrestling and some other stuff. All of that put together is not as useful as what ESPN has for $4/month less IMO but, Creighton. Another sign of bad flo branding... some of their sites have the domain .tv (flovolleyball.tv) while others have the domain .org (flowrestling.org) and still others have the domain .com (floracing.com). So you have to search a bit to get to it, but it is included with volleyball.

Random thoughts about several previous posts: 3) In terms of recruit rankings, this year's class seems to be a step down from some others recently. I think thats just a reflection of the current team and situation. The current team is deep in the highest "ranked" positions aka OHs and Setters. Norah isn't losing her spot and then there's 3 top 100 recruits vying for #2 (Martin, Ndam-Simpson, TeStrake) at setter you obviously have Kendra. KBB looks for very specific middles i would have to believe. I think only Reinhardt and Hickman (and now Johnson) are "ranked" middles that came to Creighton. (and this class would have competition from Reinhardt having three years of eligibility left) Plus rankings are a mess anyways. It's all about what program you go to nowadays.

I've never understood "recruiting rankings" in any sport. I feel like your ranking is at partially on which teams/programs are recruiting you and then your "star ranking" is updated. I feel like rankings are more circular logic/affirmation than anything useful. Development is a far more important tool for a coach. Yes, there still needs to be talent/potential, but I'll take developing that talent over a high ranking stud who might not work as hard due to being so much better than everyone in high school (big (wo)man on campus syndrome). KBB tells a story about one recruit who became a star for Creighton from early in her career, but she was #2 on her high school team and KBB was actually there for the #1. KBB said that player was very hard working, "had a spark", and Creighton offered the #2. I wish I could remember the name. Anyways, KBB also says they look for that "spark" now. It goes to show that everyone gets it wrong/misses occasionally. Edit 1.0: (page) Snipe!
