Saw this on PrepVolletball: The University of California, Santa Barbara has five new commitments to announce! Class of 2022 Grace Wuischpard a 6-3 Middle Blocker from Monte Vista High School (CA), and Absolute VBC Class of 2023 Lois Hansen a 6-3 Opposite Hitter from Yorba Linda High School (CA), and Tstreet VBC Emma McDermott a 6-2 Outside/Opposite Hitter from Redwood High School (CA) and Absolute VBC Eva Travis a 5-11 Outside Hitter from Laguna Beach High School (CA), and Tstreet VBC Cortni Youngblood a 5-5 Libero/DS from Lakewood High School (CA), and Mizuno Long Beach VBC It'll come down to setting for UCSB. Should be fun to watch.

Seems like the only top tier team that aren't getting any good commits are UH.

Two good players that have a high ceiling, we should have scholarships open to offer new recruits in 2023/2024. But 2022 might be a little rough lol

You recruit 2-3 years in advance and establish relationships with prospects. Maybe Robyn wasn’t anticipating such a big transfer class(Leoniak, Johnson and possibly Demirtas) and is now unsure of those in the portal and may be wary of bringing them in. Maybe the plan is to go ahead and work with what she has now and then bring in her own recruits for 2023.
My hope is the returners step up and make that big leap. Depth may be an issue but we still have the same bunch coming back except for BVS and Skyler. Replacing BVS will take more than one player. Replacing Skyler might be a little easier if Anna is ready to go. If our OPP can produce some offensive numbers similar to BVS and block well, our pins will be fine.
I’m not all that concerned about the OHs. I feel Riley and Chandler will be decent. Hope for Brae/Annika/Tiff to bust out at OPP. Amber and Anna should be solid in the middle. So will our back row with Tayli and Talia.

Great arm. 6 rotation. Good head. I'm not sure she's ready right away for the college game and the serving difference but she should be an impact player very soon!

Alexander will definitely start for Hawaii. Wagoner kinda came on strong at the end of the season, but at times she and Johnson have been inconsistent. Interesting to seeing how this team do without Brooke Van Sickle. Akana has a live arm, and I'm hoping she will finally win a starting spot.

Crossinng my fingers that Anna,Tiffany,Annika is 100% ready to play when season starts.

I wrote down LBSU’s returning and transfer scholarship players. I was curious and looked up the senior ace list for their high school graduating year and 9 out of the 12 scholarship players were listed in the top 100. Hopefully this translates into better performance on the court next season.

Transfers: Schwartzenbach, Meyer, M. Chacoan, and Glenn. Am I close?

Dang, I was going to say Martinez instead of Chavira, but I didn’t think Martinez was on scholarship. I hope she is healthy and gets to play.

Should be fun to watch. UCSB is deep at setter. They beat UCLA a couple weeks ago without a starting setter (Ma'a) in the lineup. OH2 is the issue for UCSB but Ohwobete should be one of the favorites for BW POY.
