I think Chloe is the number 1 OH for the 2023 class. I’ve seen the rest and what she can do on a court and only being 5’8 is crazy. She is #3 OH for her class but #4 overall. Also she is only 5'8? I feel like she is at least 5'9 or 5'10. I have seen her standing next to girls I coach who are 6'0 and there is a significant difference. 5'9 on a good day. She plays like she's 6'4.

She jumps out of the gym and has no issue playing against big blockers. I watched her practically win the first set against kiva 17 red by herself hitting over and around 6’3 bunton (MB Texas committ). And she was much better than 6’3 helmers (another Texas commit on kiva, OH).

Even watching Chloe do hitting lines with team USA this past summer was very telling about her talent. She consistently jumped higher and hit harder than almost any other pin. Everytime she hit I remember thinking “wait who is THAT” only to find out it was 5’ 8” Chloe haha

The defense had little time to react when she was swinging cause the ball had already bounced up off the floor and 15 feet into the air by the time she landed

It’s difficult for them to be successful in the pros but undersized OHs can do just fine in the ncaa if they have the athleticism. Both of Louisville’s OHs were 5’10 and they weren’t too shabby

Future on the left pin looks strong for Purdue. Saw Hudson and chicoine play at bluegrass, only other OH there on their level was wrobel I think Chloe is the number 1 OH for the 2023 class. I’ve seen the rest and what she can do on a court and only being 5’8 is crazy. Murray from Legacy might have something to say about that. But honestly, with them being teammates on the U18 team (or was it younger) you are splitting hairs about who is better.

My 6'2 blockers struggled with Chloe and her speed however had little problem shutting Murray down. That's why I agree with the previous poster, we focus too much on height here. CC is a one of a kind player.

I’ve seen both them play and chicoine is just more polished, she has more shots and is like a wand libero for her team out there. Teams really tried to avoid her in serve receive

For anyone interested:
Purdue lost 2-3 to Ball State this evening. I don't have official stats but Ellis led the way offensively with 18 kills. Renner had 15 digs.
The line-up:
OH: Ellis (DS: Emily Brown) OH: Koch (DS: Hornung) MB: Meyer MB: Colvin S: Renner OPP: Chinn L: Schermerhorn
Chinn played 6-rotations and looked good defensively. Served pretty well. Blocked good too. She passed in rotation 1, maybe more. It was hard to see. I think it'll be her spot to lose come the fall.
Ellis looked strong. Colvin too. The Meyer situation is interesting because they run her more as a right side. She doesn't run the typical middle routes.
The passing is going to need a lot of work. I was shocked Schermerhorn was the libero but who knows what's happen by the fall.
Here's the match:

It was hard to read the jersey numbers so that might not have been Emily Brown as a DS? She's the only DS listed with a double digit jersey number other than Hornung but Hornung is blonde so 🤷🏾

In the first set I think it was Chacon as the DS and that appeared to not go well.
Renner looked very good. I knew she could set, but I was impress With her mobility and floor defense. Both have improved since I have seen her.
Chinn has a lot of range from the right. Not as terminal as a typical opposite but more balanced in other phases of the game.
Koch got subbed for Rastovski in sets 4 and 5. Seemed to be a non-factor. I am not sure what that was all about. If anything was gained offensively, more was lost with what looked like not great blocking.
I’m very disappointed with passing. Really, that’s all I’m going to say.
Serving did not look tough. This team is going to have to be better than that. I’m not sure if they were rattled by the court, but serves did not look flat or that they were getting on the passer fast and were passed easily by a pretty decent BSU passing unit.
Meyers in the middle was better than I expected. This is one of those things that I expect to be much better come fall. Her ability to get pin to pin blocking was pretty good, and BSU is pretty quick offensively. I think Clayton could probably come in and displace her. At that point does she go to the right and Chinn to OH? Does an incoming OH displace Koch?

I don't remember the exact rotations, but she would have had Pavan against her in at least one front row rotation, and the middles for the Huskers were no slouches, either. I think Houghtelling was one.

Is Brown on campus yet? I really think she'll end up with the libero jersey by the time the first match comes. This team is not young, but they're very inexperienced as a whole unit playing together. However, Shondell has a lot of faith in this group of seniors and I believe he'll have them ready to go before the first match.
