Once again the CAL POLY Lady'Stangs return home. This time to face the 2nd place UCSB gauchos. POLY is in a must win mode. Good to see Amy Hiatt playing again during the Friday nite match against CSUN. Doesn't look good for POLY at 10-4 with six matches to go. The balloon seemed to have burst!!! Another win over UH will certainly take the sting out of waiting for another season. This time around, Hawai'i will have the services of our libero and home court advantage. We're banking on redemption.

Poly will get Hawaii's best effort as another loss to the Mustangs would put Hawaii's title hope in jeopardy. The Bows have their starting libero back so Hawaii's passing should be better than it was last time. I'm glad I get to watch Maia one more time in person.... what a talent she is. Hawai'i needs to slow her down. That said there is this week of play first.

Even when POLY beat the wahine in SLO 3-1 they were without three returners,...DeNecochea, Hiatt & Thalken. All three projected starters. So stop moaning and groaning over one girl,...it's in poor form!!!

How do Poly fans feel about the 2023 recruits? Hoping the BW gets back to having three teams in the Tournament.

Does Cal Poly not recruit black girls? Yes, they are allowed one black girl each decade I believe Savannah Niemann was the one allocated for 2010 to 2020, will be interesting to see which girl they get for 2020 to 2030, hopefully they find the right one soon before time runs out as they are not allowed to carry over for the next decade if they cant find anyone by then

Maybe Walters has implemented a new recruiting strategy like Josh Taylor at Mizzou?

Maybe Walters has implemented a new recruiting strategy like Josh Taylor at Mizzou? I think Poly has always been a tough place to recruit for black women. The school demographics have historically been so less diverse than the urban CSUs, especially for black students. Even UCSB, until the last couple years with some recruits that changed the mix of the team at least for now, was similar. UCLA as well for years had unique issues to recruit black students. it can be a bit of self fullfilling prophecy, recruits look at the school demographics, and think justifiably if it will be a good fit culturally for them. The demographics of California aren't really changing such it would facilitate that change either for more black women, as the demographics trend is with higher ratio of hispanics. Not saying or getting into about whether it's good or bad, it's just reality of demographics, and pool of recruits (especially in California in VB and desire of Cal state schools to recruit in Calif if they can) and the options available for recruits.

if we win the last 4. do we have a chance at the ncaa? Probably not. Hawaii’s rpi will probably drop to the 60-70s. Still not enough to get to top50. What other quality wins do they have?

if we win the last 4. do we have a chance at the ncaa? If,... CAL POLY wins the last four matches they will need to take a 100 RPI down to 55. Pretty hard to do. Winning out and going 16-4 in conference best scenario. Having two wins over UH and none against UCSB. UH needs to lose to POLY, UCSB & UCI. UCSB probably would win the conference and be the only team into NCAA.
