I would think that would be about right. Maybe the next morning? I definitely would try to get them asap, though. With Nebraska in region, assuming they advance, and pent up demand here in Louisville, it wouldn't shock me to see the place sell out (about 22k). The highest attended NCAA Volleyball match of all time is 18,755: Wisconsin defeated Nebraska on Dec. 18, 2021 at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio in the NCAA final. Would be super cool if this somehow was broken in a Regional Final match! Although I'm not super sure that Louisville is considered "driveable" for Nebraska fans. Hope we get the chance to see! this Nebraska fan considers it *very* driveable. Of course, I’m located in West Lafayette. 😊

Indeed. At this point it almost seems the only limit in these attendance records is when does the opportunity arise to have a match in a facility with larger capacity? That Nationwide number was a sell-out, as was, I believe the records set earlier this season for regular season matches. Who's got the biggest arena to work with, here?

Center is actually 5th so that's exciting for 2024! Amalie (Tampa next year) is actually 7th. After that, it looks like we need to be headed to Greensboro or Chicago (if you can fit the practices/games in around the Blackhawks and the Bulls--which seems unlikely 🙃)

Are there plans to build a new arena for Louisville? I know that DBK is pushing hard for a new facility. I also suspect (opinion) that if they don't get moving on one, she won't be at Louisville long term. This makes me think that Minnesota has a shot a her, unless she admits she is waiting for the NE job to open up.

This makes me think that Minnesota has a shot a her, unless she admits she is waiting for the NE job to open up. I always psych myself out ab this. but im holding on to her and others words. “If I was an athletic director somewhere, I’d be taking a hard look at Dani if I was looking for a volleyball coach,” Heird said. “And it was a pretty simple conversation, because she wants to be here. Her only question was relative to going back to her alma mater, and giving her the opportunity to do that just seemed like the right thing to do.” - Louisvilles interim AD when busbooms contract was increased. “I love Louisville, My husband loves it here. We want to stay for a long time for sure." - DBK less than a year ago. contract lasts 6 years and has a 400,000 buyout clause. if Louisville makes the sweet 16, DBK will take home ab $450,000 this year alone. my guess is cook is outta there by 2027 if he gets a natty, and by 2030 if he doesn't. its the biggest job in the country and dbk is basically a shoe in. all she needs to do is keep Louisville in the top 15 for the next couple of years and that job will be hers. and im sure she knows this. and I dont think Minnesota is gonna hire her if she asks them for the same conditions regarding nebraska, the second they see cook is 66 they won't hire her she's got a new baby and her husband works as well, makes moving even more difficult. cook will have a ton of influence on who takes over, and im not sure there's others he'd pull for more than dbk

In a post-selection show interview, DBK confirmed DeBeer will be back for the tourney.
She said "I think that adds another wrinkle for us" which might be the largest understatement in the history of NCAA volleyball.

Their back up has been playing pretty dang well. I’m not sure Debeer is going to change them as much as some people think. They are still really good without her

Lol saying Debeer coming back "adds a wrinkle" is the understatement. Like of course it does. They are not in my list of NC contenders without her.

DeBeer is good, they are a good team without her, but her being fully back does significantly increase their chances of competing for the title. Mbonu is a solid attacking option, but DeBeer's ball control changes the dynamic. Instead of having slightly weaker ball control rotations, now they can use that DS sub elsewhere to create stronger ball control rotations. I'd be curious to see the passing stats for DeBeer, Chaussee, Scott, and Hendricks.

That’s partly why I think they are only slightly better with her because Mbonu has been very good and having a ds helps out

Their back up has been playing pretty dang well. I’m not sure Debeer is going to change them as much as some people think. They are still really good without her it gives extra rotations for her to pass as well which (idk numbers but by eye test) she appears to be pretty good at. debeer is also the better competitor, she's usually been the one who gets the ball when its important. mbonu provides a good cushion for any of the 3 pins if they are struggling, but debeer makes a notable difference imo I now see that debeer passing on the year doesn't look great, but I thought she was very strong in her recent matches. could be wrong there too idk. does anyone know what her passing grade is since she returned from injury?
