Debeer is good but lmao. Come on now. Their back up has been playing pretty dang well. I’m not sure Debeer is going to change them as much as some people think. They are still really good without her I now see that debeer passing on the year doesn't look great, but I thought she was very strong in her recent matches. could be wrong there too idk. does anyone know what her passing grade is since she returned from injury? 1.93, 44.6% GP since she came back against NC State on the 4th

They are still really good without her it gives extra rotations for her to pass as well which (idk numbers but by eye test) she appears to be pretty good at. debeer is also the better competitor, she's usually been the one who gets the ball when its important. mbonu provides a good cushion for any of the 3 pins if they are struggling, but debeer makes a notable difference imo I now see that debeer passing on the year doesn't look great, but I thought she was very strong in her recent matches. could be wrong there too idk. does anyone know what her passing grade is since she returned from injury? she wasn’t a good passer even before she got injured even the last seasons. I can pull them when I get home

I still think healthy debeer is a big step up from mbonu even being an average passer. she hits a faster tempo and gets on the ball quicker than maybe anyone. if Louisville is passing well, she and chaussee will be extremely difficult to stop. faster tempo to both OHs should help jones get some good chances too. I dont really like debeer's oos game but I like mbonus even less

Did I hear in the VBMag interview with DBK that she doesn’t think Debeer will be back to last year’s form yet?

Did I hear in the VBMag interview with DBK that she doesn’t think Debeer will be back to last year’s form yet? she did say that she doesn't think debeer will be at 100% for the tourney. but debeer also almost didn't play against wisco last year because of injury and she looked great even tho they lost. she's a baller I wouldn't be surprised to see her going off in the tourney

Lol saying Debeer coming back "adds a wrinkle" is the understatement. Like of course it does. They are not in my list of NC contenders without her. DeBeer is good, they are a good team without her, but her being fully back does significantly increase their chances of competing for the title. Mbonu is a solid attacking option, but DeBeer's ball control changes the dynamic. Instead of having slightly weaker ball control rotations, now they can use that DS sub elsewhere to create stronger ball control rotations. I'd be curious to see the passing stats for DeBeer, Chaussee, Scott, and Hendricks. Completely agree. Weak ball control rotations is literally what determines the national champion most years.

From what I have seen, having her in the backrow passing 1.93 (I think?) is better than a DS without the option for a backrow attack. They go to her a lot back there and it's a legit part of their offense, esp in trans. They're much better with four attackers at all times, IMO.

Does Hendricks come in for Aiko when DeBeer is healthy or is she full six rotations too? I'm not sure it wouldn't be worth Hendricks DSing her because Jones isn't great from the back row

But I can’t say I’ve watched Scott enough to say she is or isn’t 😁 I give fleck the nod over Scott but not Rodriguez. let us all remember Elena Scott never had consistent training is serve receive or left back at all until she came to Louisville. makes it so much more impressive the level she is at compared to those who have been training that position their entire lives. took a huge gamble coming to Louisville knowing she would have to play an entirely new position. she had top 25 offers to be a setter but decided to take the risk
