I assume because Dachsund’s are small but can be fearless for their size.

Luper is back and already made a difference now we need Forte ut who sits? Probably Alupei but tbh they would probably be better moving Dodson to Opp and sitting Ndiaye

ok, was finally able to watch the full Hawaii match and I'm walking away with a few thoughts. Let me know what you think--what are your key observations after this past week?
1. Our block is GOOD! Alupei, Dodson and Ndiaye did a great job of closing on the blocks and giving Hawaii hitters a real challenge to put the ball down. I feel good best about this part of our game at this point in the season.
2. Charitie Luper-- not much else i can add to what's been said already, but to notch 17 kills and hit over .400 in your season debut is bonkers. We need her to stay healthy to make a deep tournament run. Really loved watching her on the court again.
3. Setting- I'm not one to rag on any individual player, but I did expect more from McKissock coming into the season since she came in with ACC Setter of the Year and All-American accolades. There were times in the Hawaii match where location was wonky and it was tough for our hitters to be terminal. I'm hoping this chemistry improves more throughout the year.

McKissock will get in her groove. It just looks stiff, like she’s just been used to just swatted at the ball from a high contact vs any real whip and I don’t see that being great from OOS sets to handle a big loss as an opposite. Which I guess is fine seeing as how both of the UCLA outsides can make up for that. Again It works because of her height of contact but it doesn’t seem like she’s going to be good at adjusting to any off/not ideal.

LMU Match Observations
Was able to see this game live, had high hopes after the emotional win at Hawaii.
PROS: Passing- there was no point in the match where our serve receive was off. I don’t think the LMU serve was particularly tough, but this was a bright spot for us. Cole and McCall had this in control.
CONS: I think the Bruins were affected by the passing of Queen Elizabeth or something, because just about everything else was off.
Blocking- seeing Forte get the start was exciting, but the block that the Bruins had developed early in the season disappeared. Alupei was nowhere to be found. LMU out blocked us in every set and caused fits for our OH.
Setting- I said this after Hawaii match but McKissock has not figured out placement for her hitters just yet. The move to Tufono was the right call, but pace and location were not solid for her either. I think we felt it hardest in the middle, with lots of missed connections and trap sets.
Pin Hitters: Olson, Leverette, McCall and Ndiaye got blocked so many times I couldn’t keep count. They were tipping A LOT but I think that also comes back to the setting.
