It might be no big deal. On the other hand, is Luper going to turn out to be one of those athletes who is great on the court but just can't seem to keep herself on the court? It's way too early to say that, but after whatever happened in her first season, that question obviously looms.

UCLA with everybody is talented, without mediocre Um, what teams are "talented" without their best players playing?

Does anyone know the status of injuries for Luper and Forte? I think someone noted they saw a leg brace on Luper on IG.

After one week, UCLA is number one of all D1 teams in blocks with 4.29 per set.

After one week, UCLA is number one of all D1 teams in blocks with 4.29 per set. Whoever is their blocking coach is doing an awesome job because 10 block solos and 20 block assists in that 4-set loss to Utah State is a lot! They had more solo blocks (7) than block assists (6) in their 3 set sweep of Cal Poly as well. Once their offense gets going, they'll be on track.

Looks like Luper and Forte are on the trip to Hawai'i. Let's hope they're healthy and able to play in the tourney.

Looks like Luper and Forte are on the trip to Hawai'i. Let's hope they're healthy and able to play in the tourney. I’m excited for their potential return. McCall and Ndiaye look much better than last season, and even after a poor defensive showing last week, I have faith in Cole and Dueck. The other outside spot could just not get figured out so Luper obviously provides a MASSIVE upgrade. Alupei is a really solid middle, so not as big of an upgrade there but still an upgrade, especially on the offensive front. The PAC really needs them to be as good as advertised!

I'm not as confident with Cole and Dueck, considering their low dig tally last weekend, though I'm sure this can improve. They are experienced. Yes, the middles were very effective.

Although Hawaii is higher on my favorite team list, UCLA is a close second and I want to see a Sunday game with both teams at full strength. Really hoping Luper and Forte make their debut

I didn’t watch the games, did the high block number contribute to their low dig numbers? Or were they out of position/not controlling balls? Realistically it’s probably a combination of factors
