I hope they fire Sealy but keep Pendergast. I thought she was an underwhelming hire but her recruiting skills are much better than I thought

I bet Hadrych is happy that her new team (Colorado) is in the Tourney instead of her old team. Same goes for the former back-up UCLA libero (forgot her name) UCLA had so much promise this year. Weren't they pre-season ranked? Let's not forget Emily Ryan, who's at Florida State now. Fleck at Texas.

She has more assists in her only season as a Blue Devil than four seasons as a Bruin. I know Duke did not have a good season too but at eleast she got plenty of playing time

Maybe we should start up an "NIT" style tourney for programs like UCLA.

Maybe we should start up an "NIT" style tourney for programs like UCLA. Let me introduce you to the NIVC. Based on selection criteria, UCLA would have been offered a bid and declined.

I don’t know. She was the recruiting coordinator who brought in Forte, McKissock and Cole. With how year turned out, I don’t think those 3 moved the program forward. If I were her, I would be concerned about what transfers she can bring in, after missing the tourney, and only two scholarship recruits in 2023 and only one in 2024. Recruiting is the life blood of a program. UCLA appears to be on life support.

accidentally posted this in the transfer portal tea thread hahaha but who would be the front runner to replace Sealy? I don't have investment in UCLA's program past hoping they can create some interesting matches if the Board of Regents allows them to join the Big 10, but in the other UCLA 2022 thread, SayonaraTachikara said, "my guess is Jaylen Reyes...He is young, high energy and from the west coast. UCLA needs a shot in the arm, he is a fantastic recruiter and can teach the tricks of the trade." I think former Nebraska assistants that leave the Big 10 (Skinner @ Kentucky, DBK @ Louisville, etc.) tend to have better luck than those that stay (Tamas @ Illinois) but Reyes seems to be among the top P5 assistants after a heafty hiring cycle last year (Iowa, LSU, Long Beach, LSU, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Penn State, TCU etc.) and UCLA seems like the best fit of those that are open.

Dodson is in the transfer portal. I had a feeling that was going to happen.
Hopefully she and Colorado will agree for her to join the team. She can be back home in Colorado and would replace CU's 6th year star, Hart, nicely.

Only appeal for her to go to CU is her family could go to lots of her games but my guess is Pitt. CU Should really put their efforts into libero. If UCLA is going to part ways with Sealy when do you all expect that announcement to be made?

Too many unknowns. Nobody knows how many years are left on Sealy’s contract. And nobody knows if the regents will approve the move to the Big 10. No move. No money to do things like buyout contracts in Olympic sports. Not sure how you recruit when recruits don’t know if coaches are staying or leaving but hopefully they can.
