UCLA needs a good coach. They don’t necessarily need Fisher. What is the obsession with Fisher? He’s a good coach FOR PITT but doesn’t mean he’s going to be good in LA. I think it’s going to a top assistant with some name recognition like Reyes me too. UCLA is three years away from having the $$ to hire away top head coaches in non-revenue sports. But UCLA doesn't need a big name coach to recruit, and most of the time it is top assistants anyway who are coaching up the players in the fundamentals of the game.

Exactly, and the PAC has been steadily moving onto a younger but accomplished coaches and having them inherit being the face of the program. Sealy probably could have be stayed on another 5+ years had he been able to string along another successful season and it was looking like they could have in the preseason picking up Forte, McKissock, and the Libero from Duke but there’s obviously something wrong internally when you get good pieces to replace last year and you do less than nothing.

Who are the recruits in the pipeline?

Who are the recruits in the pipeline? UCLA has only one 2024 commit. Zoe Humphrey a MH with Houston Juniors. Even with all the issues, they should still have more. Hoping there are some talented players left in the 2024 class looking for homes or new coach can flip some recruits.

I wonder if Sealy was on the fence for awhile and wasn’t approving offering anyone and letting his replacement have their own recruiting class sooner than later. Not even sure how many open scholarships UCLA has or who in total is leaving because it honestly feels like everyone

Looks to me like 2 OH’s on scholarship, 2 MB’s (1 injured), 1 Opp, 2 Setters, and 1 or 2 L/DS’s.

I really don’t think they go out of the Bruin bubble, but idk who would be the top contenders if that was the main criteria..

The "Bruin Bubble" just doesn't exist for Volleyball, the way it does with the Softball team. When Sealy was hired, he talked a lot about involving the volleyball alumnae in the program, but that never happened.

The California Board of Regents vote is today. Will they approve the move to the B1G?

The fact that UCLA knew for weeks that there was a very strong possibility that Sealy would be let go, and have still not announced a new HC, tells me the top candidate, or perhaps a person who has already verbally accepted the position, is
at the final 4,

So that’s it then? The PAC12 is officially on its way towards being a ghost of a conference like the Big12?
