And honestly, if UW hadn't run away with the championship I could have seen them giving McCutcheon a "lifetime achievement" COY award for Minnesota's late turnaround. I think it's fair to say they're currently the second likeliest team to get to Omaha in the B1G. "Lifetime achievement award?" He's only been there for 11 seasons, one more than Sheffield.

I am in no way 'expert' at the brackets. But it looks to me like - after the obvious six teams getting bids - for the next four teams the "it's the strongest conference" argument and other 'extenuating circumstances' (Northwestern) or 'last ten played' (Indiana) would lead to "either take all of them, or none of them". And "all of them" isn't gonna happen.
I think the obvious six get their bids, and that's it. With sympathies to Northwestern in particular, I'm OK with that.

The Big Ten was either very ordinary or very competitive this year, take your pick. Six teams should be the number.

2019 Illini received a bid with an RPI 51 (11-9 BIG, 15-14 regular season)...Volleytalk went Def Con 3. It was a hoot I had Illinois projected in that year in my Bracketology. From what I remember, a lot of B1G fans weren't very pro-Illinois that years. VCU was the real issue that year, not Illinois.

"Lifetime achievement award?" He's only been there for 11 seasons, one more than Sheffield. The question is why were they so bad until Hugh made his career decision? They weren't.

Looking back at the season, Rousseau was fantastic for Northwestern when healthy. TTA like always was one of the best players in the conference, and on her day, Miller pulled out some insane digs.
Only qualm is how well Lesiak performed in that Week 2 tournament. Made Shane Davis play her far, far too much for the rest of the season, and pretty much singlehandedly coat Northwestern a spot at the tournament with her dreadful display vs Penn State last Wednesday

I always felt like she was out there for passing and maybe some height? She has just never been a standout on offense, often breaking even with her kills and errors.

When does the big ten release players of the year awards? Also when do all americans come out? For some reason I just don’t recall when they were released last year.

Last year, the Big 10 put their postseason awards out the Wednesday before the tournament (11/30 this year). All Americans were announced the Wednesday before the National Semifinals (12/14 this year) with AVCA Player of the Year Awards being announced at the Friday Night banquet between the Final Four and the National Championship (12/16 this year).

Yeah she played 6R because of her passing. However she commanded so many swings and last I checked she was hitting 0.082 in Big Ten play. We had a significantly better offensive option in the freshman Averie Hernandez, though I speculate she isn’t the best at passing. I wished we played her + sophomore DS/L Ellee Stinson more though.

Colvin, girl, you were robbed! I re-read this twice to see if I missed something.... apparently 16 blocks (4 Per Set) against the Top Blocking Team in the country is not enough....
