I *think* me and basil said we’d help with a secondary league if there was enough interest to start a second one. could be somewhat like a pro league where the top players from the second league get moved up to “this” league and the bottom players from the top league move down to the “relegation league”. there might not be enough interest and in that case, you all know I’d love to play lol. but that’s another caveat that could keep people involved all season, especially in this league. Also down for a second league if the top/first is full.

I dunno if there has ever been a year where there are enough actively engaged participants to facilitate a second league, but I will say that if we do go to two matchups per week, it would allow a few more participants as we could do bye weeks.

I'd be willing to help create the shared scoring spreadsheet again this season! I thought it was fun to be able to see everyone's scores (mildly) live throughout the course of the week

I would agree that there's never really enough participants for a 2nd league. We seem to have at least one person disappear after 'agreeing to participate' that has to be replaced either immediately prior to the draft, during the draft, or after the draft. It would be nice if there was some sort of process to verify that people that ask to join will continue to participate throughout the season.

I thought it was fun to be able to see everyone's scores (mildly) live throughout the course of the week I think I mentioned this last year, but, in particular if we go to two matchups per week, I think the shared spreadsheet should have a main head to head tab, but the subsequent tabs aren't the matchups (which need to be manually entered each week) but rather each fantasy team has a permanent tab with their players and a few slots for the formulas for their matches and player totals for the active players get coded for the head to head tab. I think it would make for much less work.

After taking off last year, I'd be down this year as well! But also, no worries if things get full

ay2013 is going to be taking over my admin role for this season. I don’t mind the idea of 2 matches a week so you might have the chance to beat an opponent who defeated you earlier in the season, but it will cause more work for everyone with submitting 2 rosters each week. Admins will have to spend more time too, and populating the shared spreadsheet will obviously take longer if huskerpower is going to do the weekly spreadsheets (which was such a great addition last year), I think he/she should be a designated admin - guaranteed a spot. FWIW, I don't need or specifically want to admin, was just volunteering to do it. vballfan17 creates a lot of content for VT, I'm not even sure how you keep up with it all.

Yeah, it doesn’t really matter to me. I can do it, but I’m okay letting someone else take the reins. Up to you/the group.

Relating to the 2 matchups per week, I thought someone suggested submitting a roster for each matchup. That would definitely cause more work, but also, if you’re playing 2 different teams, you might not want the same roster for both opponents.
I agree having 2 matchups could open up the opportunity to add more participants (maybe 16 or 20 instead of 12 or 14). I think if we do that, we’d have to open up the number of selectable teams though.

It’ll force teams to be more well-rounded rather than stacking certain stat categories. I think it’s possible to have two leagues, there are people last year plus new people this year who have chimed in enough to say that want in. I guess it’s a matter of is there enough admins for another league

I think it’s possible to have two leagues, there are people last year plus new people this year who have chimed in enough to say that want in. I guess it’s a matter of is there enough admins for another league I suppose the question is what the point of doing two matchups per week is for. IMO, changing up the rules should either be to close an unfair advantage loophole / improve efficiency of the game to make it more fair, or because we want new challenges. What Trojan proposed and where I agree is that playing every fantasy team twice throughout the season makes the end result a bit more fair by taking some the randomness of the schedule out of play for determining the standings. There are plenty of situations in the past where which team you play and when matters for the standings. Drawing newbies in the first couple weeks versus having to play veterans. Getting "lucky" in a week where your opponent forgets something. Drawing a disengaged player in the last few weeks, or someone at the bottom of the standings just looking for SOME points towards the end of the season so you can only get 3-2 outcomes. If the goal is to have a more well rounded roster rather than stacking for categories there are other rules we could implement. Firstly, the points system encourages more well rounded rosters. Stacking and only winning 3-2 isn't a good way to win the league, you need to rack up 4-1+ wins, which can only really be achieved by having players that can put stats in a lot of categories. Or, we could go back to where there was only 1 or 2 "any's" rather than 3. Frankly, I think if you were forced to submit the same roster for two different matchups, we'd see even MORE stacking. The biggest issue I have with two matchups, one roster, is that most (if not all) of us PM regularly re fantasy matches. It wouldn't make for good vibes if whispers of collusion made its way to the league, and this rule would really leave that door open.

With two matchups per week, I think expanding to 16 or 18 teams, with the requisite number of bye weeks where a team only has one matchup instead of two for the 14 week NCAA season sounds like a good way to add a few more people to the league that really want to play. Also agree that the playerverse should be expanded, especially if we expand the bench, but that's easy enough.
