This is the opposite of Card's 2017 match against Florida I was there. That was no fun at all. I think the two players from Kansas City were both negatively affected by playing at home. The pressure of various kinds of situations can be really hard to deal with. What happened after that? I had the best seats of my life for the national final... front row... after my team LOST. I remember talking to Paul Sunderland about how ironic I found that to be. One of the players and her family stayed for the final... their seats were great too, of course... as they should have been. |

I couldnt watch... can someone give me a set by set tldr;-; Set 1: Fairly evenly matched, but Florida should've closed out one of the 7 set points that they had. Stucky was fantastic - but Stanford went to Kipp in the back row and had some success. Set 2: What even was this set? Stanford somehow won this mainly due to Kipp still slightly hitting well. Set 3: Service errors galore. Kipp goes cold. Baird is MIA. Florida manages to scrape some points together. Set 4: Stanford still can't buy an attack outside of maybe Francis. Set 5: ACES FOR FLORIDA! Then Stanford somehow shuts down Victoria and comes back to win. about sums it up. |

If this match is anything like we will see in the post season, I am excited!!!! This was a great match to watch, I’m a Florida fan. With a young team that they have, I was impressed with how they turned it around in set 3 & 4. They should’ve closed it out in set 1, but it is what it is..

Kendall went from hitting negative to hitting over .400 in the span of one set IMO, this is the issue with Kipp overall though. In one moment she's a POY candidate, the next, she's hitting out, into the net, etc. making errors all over the place. The inconsistency is painful when she's so damn talented. |

FINAL THOUGHTS:
- Stucky was outstanding this match - once she starts getting into the groove and rhythm with her teammates. It's lights out for the other teams...
- The serve receive/defense was better than I expected
- Victoria/ACF are completely ineffective and seem to not be able to put the ball down
- Markova was quiet but I feel like Stucky set her crapshoots most of the time, most of the in system balls went to MB/OPP which is fine by me
- Again, do not even put ACF/Victoria in matches... we were lacking an extra player

Such a fun match! Would have been a huuuuge tone-setter for Florida. Imo, Florida’s back court really needs McKissock to be clutch in those moments of the 5th set and so far she hasn’t really been. Hopefully with a bit more time. Too many off passes and missed digs. The future is bright though!

I'm not saying your rooting interest is false, or your reasons for it. I'm saying you're being punished for your impudence. Welo. We got a great match and the ‘right’ team won. Both of these teams are going to be really good this season. If Stanford can serve the ball in, I’m officially nervous for this weekend. Not me. Probably should be. We'll see after tomorrow night. The back row gives me a great deal of satisfaction and fulfillment right now. That said, it was an amazing match. I'm sure all kinds of emotions are high for both fan bases. Stanford fans have to feel relieved. Florida fans have to feel like that's one that got away. Next up, as they say. It's early, so both teams have plenty more chances. I still think the level of play and talent on display felt like a match in a regional even with all the errors. Just a ton of fun and I'm appreciative of the opportunity to be able to watch. |
