With season a week away, who do we think might be in trouble if they have a poor showing this year?
-Does Arizona State need to make a change? 61-85 (.418) and no NCAA Tournament appearances under 5 years of Tomasevic.
-Is Cal getting warm? After going 20-10 in 2019, they have won only 8 games since, including 1-41 in the PAC.
-Will Duke's new AD starting her second academic year finally make a change for the first time since 1999?
-How much of a leash does Aird have at Indiana?
-Missouri made 3 tournaments under Taylor, but went 5-26 last year, including getting swept in 2 of their 3 preseason tournaments after many transfer departures. What is the patience here? Does it change with Oklahoma and Texas joining the conference soon.
-Is North Carolina making the tournament last year enough to get Sagula an extension? Last extension was through 2022.
-Is Oklahoma getting warm? 14-31 (.311) since making the tournament in 2019.
-Is Oregon State ready to move on? 63-112 (.360) since 2016 under Barnard, including 19-60 (.241) in the last 3 seasons.
*I have no more knowledge (and maybe less) than any other VTer, just getting the conversation going on what teams to watch.

I would venture to say more than a few seats in the SEC will be getting warm given the Texas/OU addition. The bar will be raised with Texas now in the fold and there will be more of a focus to perform. I'm not going to throw out any names at this point, but there will be moves made in the SEC in the next year or so. That I can guarantee.

I think we could look back at the Hot Seat thread from last season and see who's still employed...if their seat was warm last season...those cheeks might be on fire this season!

Maybe after Texas actually joins, but I doubt it will have much of an impact until then. Some SEC coaches might get the boot for other reasons, though.

every coach outside the top 50 to 75 is on the hot seat; in the 'new world', if you don't perform you are risking your best players getting poached and not looking all that attractive to potential transfers. even if you do perform, you are risking your best players transferring out. it's 24/7 recruiting more so than before.

Even his B1G media days interview was a snoozefest. I'm just not sure he's charismatic enough to be a head coach at this level... let alone coaching ability.

Is the seat at Colorado getting warm? 36-43 (0.455) since making the tournament in 2018.
The record for the first three year under Mahoney is 56-40 (0.583)

How someone comes across to others is totally dependent on the person they're talking to. What doesn't jive for me certainly jives for someone else. All coaches are like this, just gotta find the athletes you relate to.

I feel like I say this every year, everybody is undefeated. This really should wait until Columbus Day. I know people are eager to fire their coach so that’s not realistic, so can we wait until a coach loses a match to put them up here?
Btw, 57-58 schools just changed head coaches this year. 30 more won conference titles. And there are a few dozen schools who need to focus on their future conference affiliation (Oregon St was already mentioned) and really shouldn’t be making long term financial commitments without knowing who the competition is and what their budget will be.
Then you have contract status.
So this years list should be relatively short, I would think.
