I was one of the number of pollsters that didn't rank Marquette or Kentucky for week 2. Purdue and Baylor are in though! I feel like that’s very fair. I decided for now both were borderline Top 16 teams so I ranked Marquette #15 & Kentucky #16. I expect Marquette to lose to Wisconsin so Kentucky’s performance this weekend could have ramifications that impact both of their rankings for me next poll.

Okay even though Kentucky lost to marquette I think not even having them in your top 25 at all is stupid lol. They have way too much talent for people to have 25 schools ahead of them lol.

Oh, well their just idiots 🤣🤣 I know of a few pretty reputable posters who didn’t rank them but it seems more agenda based lmao. and what agenda would that be? in your prior post you said "They have way too much talent for people to have 25 schools ahead of them lol", well, even if that is true (debatable, IMO), talent isn't the only way to define how good a team is...talented teams don't always do well (see USC for the last few years), and it also depends on WHERE that talent actually is. This isn't to shade you or anything, but it's clear that Kentucky is your team and it is YOU who perhaps overrate them - you placed them in your top 10 to start the season in your podcast. This isn't unreasonable or unexpected, you see them more often than other non-fans of the program and it furthers your bias. We are all guilty of doing that to some degree. If you are interested in hearing a different perspective on Kentucky, I'll give it to you. I had Kentucky in the 20-25 range in my preseason ballot. I didn't think Kentucky was THAT good last year to begin with and they lost very important scoring and passing pieces. Tealer returns as their best offensive weapon, but when you lose a decent amount of passing and defensive transition (which Kentucky does), if she can't get set the ball, her "talent" is kind of irrelevant. Rollins has been a known commodity for 4 years now and whether at Minnesota or Penn State, she hasn't shown the ability to be a consistent impact player either in the front or backcourt. There is nothing "special" about Grome based on last year. Not saying she's bad, but she's not Carlini or Poulter. Everyone else on Kentucky's roster are either new or have been role players so far. So, if you start, as I did, with the opinion that Kentucky is somewhere between 20-25 (not top 10 like you think), and then they lose in 5 at home against a Marquette team who also replaces a lot of starters AND the match reinforces the opinion that Tealer's impact is moot if the backcourt isn't strong enough to where she can get set (which was true), it's not at all unreasonable to think that neither are top 25 right now. FWIW, I'd have both Marquette and Kentucky in my top 30, and both will have plenty of opportunity in the coming weeks to get back in the top 25 (just as many currently in the top 25 have plenty of opportunity to come out of the top 25). I didn't want to be too reactionary in week 1 because it usually has wild/sloppy results. Dropping Kentucky a few spots for losing to an unranked team is still in line with that. I had the opinion that Purdue and Baylor's relatively brand new team needed to show what they could do, and had them both unranked for the preseason. Their unproven talent showed up in week 1, and they are both now in my top 25 (though not particularly high, as I don't want to be too reactionary after just one week). Large picture though - I hope you don't feel some sort of way just because we all don't share the same view as you regarding your team. We all have opinions and most of us have been on this board long enough to be able to form those opinions sans some agenda. It's still incredibly early, so much happens in the first few weeks of play. Sometimes those opinions prove to be right, sometimes they prove to be wrong, but they are usually made with some legitimate argument rather than it just being done to spite a specific team..It ain't that deep, for me at least.

I ranked Kentucky
I think Beavin, Grome, and Tealer are players at the top of their position groups and I liked the hitting numbers Lamb and Rollins put up. I think it's reasonable to put them in the low 20s at the moment.
Yes, they dropped that match to Marquette but they outscored them after the slow start in the first two sets, and I won't be too reactionary after one week. I'll be very interested in their match against USC this weekend.
