Based on what? His success with stacked rosters at Nebraska? Not to knock Jaylen because he is a good coach but looking at his success at Nebraska and believing that will translate to Hawaii is naive.

Lang just needs to work on her connections with Amber Igiede, Tiffany Westerberg, and Caylen Alexander, cause these 3 players will carry the Wahine to another BWC Title. I do not see any team in the BWC stopping these 3 players. Set Riley Wagoner and Braelyn Akana, just enough to keep the opposing BWC team honest. Amber, Tiffany, and Caylen, should be getting no less then 80% of the sets, in BWC play.

Yeah, to BYU and Nebraska. Hawaii is in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, if you believe he would be as successful recruiting for Hawaii, you are sadly mistaken. You should choose Nebraska for a new team.

One thing people need to understand, this Wahine team is still a young team. There are only 4 players that have started at least 80% of the matches last year, Amber Igiede, Kate Lang, Tayli Ikenaga, and Riley Wagoner. Everyone else did not play much last year, or are new players. The BWC cancelling the Covid season, has really put the Wahine back, especially in player development. I truly believe next year, will be a proving ground for the Wahine team and Robyn Ah Mow. With everyone coming back next year, except for Byrd, the Wahine need to be in the Top 25, even a Top 15 team, also get pass the 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament. Robyn should know what kind of players she will need to bring in to accomplish this, after watching the players perform this current season. if she is not able to accomplish getting the Wahine back into the Top 25, or even the Top 15, then maybe she should not be the Wahine Head Coach. On another note, watching quite a few BWC teams play so far, this is really a down year for the BWC, more so then even last year. So I truly believe the Wahine have an excellent chance of winning the BWC. I do not see any BWC team stopping the Wahine Middles, or even Caylen Alexander. These 3 players will lead the Wahine to another BWC Title, and another NCAA Tournament appearance. But I do not see the Wahine getting pass the 2nd round, again. Hoping at least they get pass the 1st round.

The game has changed, recruiting has changed, this isn’t the 80’s, 90’s, or 2000’s. Hawaii is still competitive despite all the challenges. Imagine how Beach fans must feel. At least the Bows are still making the NCAA tournament and winning conference titles.

Robyn can recognize talent when she sees it. Look at Amber Igiede, and Caylen Alexander. A lot of people here on VT were down on them for one reason or another. But Robyn saw how talented these players were. The best players, are those that are willing to work hard to become one of the best players at their position. Those are the kind of players, Robyn is going after, and those are the ones to build a team around. Robyn does not only look to see if that player has talent, but more at what is that player's work ethic. Does she work hard to become one of the best at her position. That seems to carry more weight For Robyn, then is that player a Top 50 player. Robyn, as a player, was NOT a Top 50 player coming out of High School. But she worked hard, to become one of the BEST SETTERS in the Nation. Not to mention, being the USA Olympic teams Starting Setter for 3 Olympics. All of this through hard work in the weight room, and gym. That is the kind of players she wants on her team. Players who are willing to put in the hard work, in the weight room and gym.
