No %*$#. This is a different volleyball landscape. The game has changed, recruiting has changed, this isn’t the 80’s,90’s, or 2000’s. Hawaii is still competitive despite all the challenges. Imaging how Beach fans must feel. At least the Bows are still making the tournament. The Beach just needed a better recruiter and they GOT IT!!! But will that translate into the BWC Title, I do not believe so. As long as Robyn is the Wahine Head Coach. Robyn may not be able to get those Top 50 players, coming out of High School. But Robyn is able to get those players that are willing to work hard to become one of the Best at their position, by the time they end their Wahine playing carreer. Those are the kind of players I would want on my team, also.

No one is confirmed until they sign the NLI. Verbal commits do not count, they can always change their mind. Once the player signs the NLI, then and only then, they are committed. So Wahine fans need to wait until at least the 2nd week of November, when players can sign the NLI, to see who will be coming into the Wahine program next year. Anything else before then, is just speculation.

Yeah, I miss the older days on the board. Granted I only came on in 2013 I think, but Hawaii posters never trashed players or coaches like they do now.
Yes they got frustrated but they always had the teams back, were insightful and new the game.
Now 90 percent of you trash the players, try to act like you guys have such a huge insight because you played JV volleyball In high school and are honestly just plain annoying.
I wish the mods would go on a ban spree and ban you all.

I did not expect this thread to turn into “fire Ah Mow” we’ve had 2 conference titles in the last 2 seasons and y’all are asking for her to be fired. There is no need to sound the alarms right now.

Go cheer for them then. What have they won so far? And Hawaii has Tayli Hakas and Stella Adeyemi coming. Those are great recruits. NEVER, I’d rather admit that I was wrong TO YOU then cheer for those 9ers!!! so doesn't this just mean you're admitting BiK is right? ... lol ok, carry on ...

It’s the nature of the beast with Volletalk A lot of “fans” of the sport and programs but not very many of them are actually knowledgeable about much besides what they see from a record or ranking. If we took the game in the 4th set, you wouldn’t see any of this and that low key shows how fair weather some fans are. Happens every season. Pretty much to every program too.

Hard to believe the number of Hawaii “fans” that apparently lack insight after 46 winning seasons.

Thanks to the bows for a great game. They were digging bombs and throwing their bodies around. So proud of this team!

You can argue that the Wahine coulda shoulda won set 4 and be a little disappointed. However, the big takeaway is that they improved from last week and will learn from this experience. The fact that they got UCLA in trouble at times is a good sign. Alexander's potential is tremendous and I liked Akana's variety of shots. A few tweaks and they would have won. That's progress and that's what counts. They will get better and win more of the close matches. It's too early in the season to panic and it was still a very entertaining match to see live.

Watched the replay this morning -- I was really impressed with how much better Hawaii looked. They clearly played better than they did last week and they forced UCLA to do a lot of good things. Before this weekend, I thought UCLA was going to sweep easily. Hawaii showed a lot of fight, and I think they'll put up a great fight against SC too.

I was not expecting people to be so critical of Robyn after this match - imo she made some great coaching choices to utilize her bench. I think that her choices are what made this game so close. Using the 6-2 was smart and likely not what UCLA would’ve been expecting. I do prefer Lang’s setting but having the extra size on the block was needed against UCLA’s outsides. Ah Mow is trying to get production out of the players available to her. The one gripe I can understand is leaving Wagoner in when she was hitting negative - but I can also understand why you need her on the floor. She stabilizes the defense and passing. She finds other ways to contribute when she can’t bring the offense. Honestly I would be happy if Wagoner could just put more pressure on the opposing defense if she can’t find a way to score. Cut down on the errors and just put a tough ball in play. The number of times she babies roll shots over or hammered it into the block was frustrating. But you need her out there.

Based on what? His success with stacked rosters at Nebraska? Not to knock Jaylen because he is a good coach but looking at his success at Nebraska and believing that will translate to Hawaii is naive. He can recruit!!! Something that we are sorely LACKING!!! Working for NEBRASKA makes it very easy to recruit.

Tough loss for Hawaii. They played really well for much of the match though, lots to build on IMO. At one point I had to check the roster because I thought Amber was 6-10, she was just a wall.
