I regret not taking a chance and picking Stanford at the beginning of the week. as a Stanford fan im not sure that's gonna happen. they have the potential to be one of the few teams left at the end but I don't think they are quite ready to take down Texas. I hope they prove me wrong but I think rubin needs more time to settle in and help this team reach the next level. |

If Texas really focuses on hitting their serving targets, this game could be over quick. Baird and Rubin have been very meh passing so far. I foresee one or both of them having to get subbed out in the back row at points. They rely on Kipp way too much, even out of system, and she doesn’t tend to handle those tougher sets very well. If we can focus on getting them out of system, this could be an easy sweep. If we let Oglivie poach a lot of the servers is when Texas could get in trouble, because Francis has looked spectacular in the middle and Kipp in system is absolutely devastating. What’s scary is that she’s just as effective from the back row as the front. So yeah, serve and pass will 1000% what wins/losses this game, for either team.

This match will be a lot closer than what most people think.
Stanford is also talented and while their back row is a big question mark compared to Texas, I think they have the talent to compete.
Baird will be key. If her passing holds up, this will be a good match.
And I tend to forget but Stanford returns this ENTIRE starting line up next season.
