This match will be a lot closer than what most people think. Stanford is also talented and while their back row is a big question mark compared to Texas, I think they have the talent to compete. Baird will be key. If her passing holds up, this will be a good match. And I tend to forget but Stanford returns this ENTIRE starting line up next season. Texas has never won in Maples. They’ll be drowning in celebratory syrup come Sunday! This is a very good Stanford squad, and I fully expect a challenge from this talented team of the Tree.

When’s the last time that second sentence was EVER uttered. Stanford having a questionable back court compared to TEXAS?! The world is flipping upside down lol

I voted Stanford obviously, but I’ll be satisfied with us just keeping it close and taking a set. This Texas team is way too good

Texas wins, and they’ll be #1 seed in NCAA’s.

Texas is too talented not to win it all this year! They'll have their ups and downs during the season, but a lot more ups than downs.

Texas wins, and they’ll be #1 seed in NCAA’s. unless they blow one in conference play, unlikely but ive seen them do it before

Texas has lost to Rice a couple of times in the recent past, but I wouldn’t say they’ve “blown one” in conference play. Losing to the Baylor teams with Pressley on them is not what I call the definition of blowing anything.

The Big 12 is not as strong as in past years. But, Texas has had the occasional loss at Iowa State, Baylor, Kansas, Oklahoma (in Austin). None of those prior Texas squads had Zoe Fleck, though.

You go through 18 conference matches a season and you’re favored in practically every one of them, an upset 4 years ago and an upset 6 years ago, both on the road to solid programs (although bit of a down year for the KU team) doesn’t feel too bad to me. But it does make him technically correct (the BEST kind of correct!) for sure.

I’ll predict Texas runs the regular season table, which isn’t really all that bold. After Stanford, Texas is way better than their opponents.

I regret not taking a chance and picking Stanford at the beginning of the week. as a Stanford fan im not sure that's gonna happen. they have the potential to be one of the few teams left at the end but I don't think they are quite ready to take down Texas. I hope they prove me wrong but I think rubin needs more time to settle in and help this team reach the next level. Rubin and Baird need to pass well. That is probably the most critical issue. I think Rubin's hitting is probably a lot less important. If Rubin and Baird can pass well and we can get the ball to Francis I think we have a real chance. If we keep setting Kipp all of the time like we did against Florida we will get crushed....

I agree. part of us only setting kipp against Florida was also that baird was not producing. if those two are playing well, Stanford won't need to pass great to win big matches. passing will still have to be solid tho in order for rubin and Francis to take some of the attention away
