I'd like to add lineup predictions to the first post and would appreciate the help if anyone has guesses on possible lineups for each of the four teams. I sent this request in the Michigan thread and I anticipate input from those folks, but the remaining three teams are in doubt. I usually interpret the most recent box scores to cobble together a lineup prediction but if anyone has some familiarity with these three non-power 5, I'd welcome the help!

Finally a time where Loyola Volleyball knowledge comes in handy. Here is what they did last weekend:
S: Bayley McMenimen and Bree Borum (6-2)
OH: Addie Barnes and Karlie McNabb
OPP: Esma Ajanovic and Emily Banitt
MB: Taylor Venuto and Kelsey Watson

Looks like the Michigan middles went off in the sweep of Toledo:
Boney with 8 kills, 0 errors on 11 swings for .727
Robinson with 6 kills, 0 errors on 8 swings for .750

Looks like the Michigan middles went off in the sweep of Toledo: Boney with 8 kills, 0 errors on 11 swings for .727 Robinson with 6 kills, 0 errors on 8 swings for .750 One thing Maddie Dowd does really well is set her middles. In addition to Robinson and Boney, really nice play today from Haley Hallgren who filled in for Pertofsky at OPP and even set for a few rotations. She's a true utility player and such a nice option to have on the bench. Jacobs is getting opportunities but so far has looked shaky in serve receive. Kendall Murray has had a terrific start to her season and has to be close to locking up the L2 spot for Blue. |

Glad to hear that they're figuring things out in preseason and hope everyone gets healthy soon. From the outside, Murray seems like a great player to have on the roster. Played DS when Michigan was set at OH with Jones/Mruzik and it's cool to hear she's getting reps and having early success at OH this year. Look forward to following this team as we get close to conference play. |

With as much as the Blue offense relies on those middles for balance, their play is much more pleasant to watch when Dowd is out there. Also should point out that freshman Serena Nyambio came off the bench and had 5-0-7 for .714. For the three middles to go 19-0-26 for .731 is impressive, no matter the opponent. Agree on Hallgren and Murray. I don't think the rest of this tournament will be a cakewalk by any means, but beating a Toledo team that swept Arizona State last weekend so soundly is a great start. I'm watching from home this weekend, but was pleasantly surprised with the broadcast for that first game. Only one camera angle but some actual commentators for a change. Hope that continues. |
