Interesting because these are the same team. There weren’t different players. That’s an impressive example of taking things completely and utterly literally. As if players can’t have good matches and bad matches. Regression and variance are no longer relevant in the current AI virtual universe.

I hate 6-2s. I feel like they take away the ability for the setter to be aggressive and limits their ability at the net. Also go Card!

Lots of talk about which Stanford team shows up, but if the Nebraska team that played Creighton shows up I am not sure if they should be feeling comfortable. I think what I have noticed is they do miss Akana she adds another elite defender and server in the back. My opinions Stanford has the better right side and setter. Nebraska is better in the middle and libero. Everything else is a wash.
Someone said earlier in this thread Stanford needs Nebraska to play like Minnesota but I think this really discredits how well they played in that win. I think for Stanford they need to serve tough I think their serving core is not bad and is strong with Kipp, Miner and even Ogilvie. Baird and Rubin need to stay solid on the outside. When teams put a lot of pressure on Stanford I think they panic and then Miner starts to try to go to her ace in Kipp even in situations where she shouldn't. I do believe Stanford has the better block. I think they can win this another achilles heel for Stanford though is their notorious slow starts. They seem to like to start playing better as the match progresses this is not something you can do against good teams cause they will get ahead and win.
Should be a good match I am definitely excited to watch.

I'm certainly not writing Stanford off like some might be, though I would note the poll is literally tied lol so it seems people are split on their predictions. In terms of your comments, Nebraska also has a significant backrow advantage. They're passing much better on the season than Stanford and I mean the two teams' typical defensive levels aren't really comparable. I'm curious to see what Cook tries to do. Kipp is so good and I just have a feeling Francis is going to be a problem haha. It'll be a fun match!

I hate 6-2s. I feel like they take away the ability for the setter to be aggressive and limits their ability at the net. Also go Card! I'm not sure why taking away setter offensive opportunities (I assume because the setter is never in the front row) is a disadvantage. The advantage to the 6-2 is that there are always 3 strong hitters and blockers in the front row. And NE has a plethora of tall, skilled hitters and blockers. Thus the 6-2 makes sense for NE and provides the setter with ample offensive options, including back row hitters. Primary disadvantage IMO is that no 2 setters set the same. But that appears minimized with Evans and Hames, possibly because Evans may have developed emulating Hames. Hames is an excellent defensive player, and Evans is a good defensive player (and improving IMO). But if they dig the ball NE is OOS. Also it is easier to target the back row setters when seving, also putting NE OOS. This usually results in Rodriguez setting, and she is good at that. Also I think NE playing beach probably helps their OOS play regardless of who sets the ball. Overall, the 6-2 has been working well for NE. Still having problems setting Hord. Stanford will be the biggest test yet. We'll see. GBR! GO BLACKSHORTS ☠️!

Of course you gain far more physicality and aggressiveness with a RS player. Lots of things I don’t like about it, but this the plus part, not negative IMO.

Looking forward to tonight's game versus a very good Stanford team. Many good moments this season so far for Big Red. We have to play some top teams to prep for our Big 10 season so tonight certainly qualifies. GBR!

I know it's an early game and I shouldn't be this nervous, but BOY AM I NERVOUS. I think a lot of husker fans are but im not saying that bc im a stanford fan, this is the first team Nebraska plays this year that will likely be seeded for the tourney, no one has seen this Nebraska team play a team that can match their size or has the same level of recruiting yet

Also what’s the status of the setter situation at Nebraska?

Also what’s the status of the setter situation at Nebraska? 2 of them set and neither of them are named Orr 🤷🏾♂️ (Mike Sealy foaming at the mouth come December!)
