Clearly came into Stanford with a bad knee injury from either club or HS. It probably was an ACL/MCL issue, but we're not privy to all medical info due to HIPAA rules. Anyway after a pretty long recovery period, we believe she re-tweaked the injury and that added many more months to her recovery. Then I believe there was another setback. Anyway, botttom line, the knee never stabilized. Thanks. I was asking to see if this provided some background info to a puzzling story. Back during her freshman season, my football website (where I'm a member) had a recruiting story on her younger brother who was a highly rated basketball recruit and is a freshman at Vanderbilt this year. He was being recruited by Texas at the time and IIRC the report mentioned that the family was a bit cool on Texas because Texas only offered Leilah as a walk-on. Thought at the time that was odd because she was highly ranked, but assumed it was because we didn't recruit a MB in that class and had Brionne, Asjia, and Molly at the time. Now knowing this makes me wonder if Elliott only offered her as a walk-on based on the injury. She injured her knee after her senior year essentially. She played in the UA Senior match and injured it soon after that. A shame we never got to see what she could do on the court.
