Do you know if it was due to an injury suffered at Stanford or during high school? Clearly came into Stanford with a bad knee injury from either club or HS. It probably was an ACL/MCL issue, but we're not privy to all medical info due to HIPAA rules. Anyway after a pretty long recovery period, we believe she re-tweaked the injury and that added many more months to her recovery. Then I believe there was another setback. Anyway, botttom line, the knee never stabilized.

The schedule varies year by year, and the team’s resilience. Are you Cook's apologist? 💀 Good one

Back during her freshman season, my football website (where I'm a member) had a recruiting story on her younger brother who was a highly rated basketball recruit and is a freshman at Vanderbilt this year. He was being recruited by Texas at the time and IIRC the report mentioned that the family was a bit cool on Texas because Texas only offered Leilah as a walk-on. Thought at the time that was odd because she was highly ranked, but assumed it was because we didn't recruit a MB in that class and had Brionne, Asjia, and Molly at the time. Now knowing this makes me wonder if Elliott only offered her as a walk-on based on the injury.

Do you know if it was due to an injury suffered at Stanford or during high school? Injury before she came to Stanford that just didn't allow her to fully be what she was before.

Sadly, Nebraska seems to be able to relate. but is Orr not playing because her knee isnt stable enough or because th other two are better? I think what’s often missed is that Orr’s knee problems predate her ACL tear. We’re talking about more than three years. She’s been used to battling through knee pain and sat out of a few club tournaments here and there because of it. It’s another one of the drawbacks of a nearly yearround club/high school grind, but that’s another discussion, I guess. Orr basically pushed through some knee troubles when the USA Youth won gold. She was so used to battling through knee stuff that when she tore up her knee during senior year, she actually didn’t get it checked out right away. It took a couple weeks before it seemed serious because it was just getting worse. And it wasn’t just an ACL, either. It’s a lot to overcome. Orr still does regular stretches with the trainer during matches just to keep everything loose. I’m hoping for the best, and I hate injuries.

boy, coach Cook's gotten under a lot of people's skin it seems! Eh, he's blamed his players and distanced himself from the loss, minimized the winning team's performance (which I've never understood--"Stanford played a great, gritty game and taught us X we can use to improve in the future" is a much better look than trashing them, and also doesn't suggest your own program lost to a bad team), and has been dishonest in the past towards a couple players, claiming they transferred away from the program for selfish reasons and complaining about the NIL when in actuality he promised both players scholarships and then reneged on them when a better opportunity came along. Cook's record speaks for itself. But so does his attitude. there could be a range of possibilities that led to what you and I see and hear. some look at him in the worst possible light and readily make unfounded accusations, and hence my comment that he got under some people's skin. the team culture at nebraska, as far as we can see, simply doesn't reconcile with a head coach that you described; neither does his long and successful record as you acknowledged. i as a nebraska fan am comfortable with and proud of the culture and the record that Cook's cultivated at nebraska, but that's obviously not something you care about.

If I were you I wouldn’t be getting too pressed about the gossip until you stop getting results (or have a scandal a la Jim Moore, but I don’t anticipate that happening). Besides, being a sith is more fun than being a Jedi 💀
