Must be frustrating for Nebraska fans and Cook too with what’s going on with Orr’s class. I remember many years ago when they all committed everyone was saying this could be the greatest class ever in the history of NCAA - Orr, Krause, Batenhorst, Rodriguez, Lauenstein even to the point of saying that they could be the better recruiting class than Plummer and Co.
Any reason why the younger Kubik is not playing? I didn’t realise she is the #1 in the class of 2022.

gassing her up all spring and summer. I don't think that's accurate. They literally spent every opportunity in front of the mic saying she was getting the keys to the offense and would be back to her prep days self. |

Getting the keys to the offense - yes To the bold - I don't recall hearing anyone say that. And the lack of overt praise stood out during fall camp, honestly. Do you recall where you heard that Orr would be back to her prep self? |

TBH, the more I think about it Cook just can’t understand how he bagged the number 1 recruit that isn’t able to consistently set a ball without doubling. I mean this shouldn’t be happening on a top 25 team. I can’t take the excuses that she hasn’t played in two years as a valid excuse… maybe the first day or two of practice but not now. There’s a bigger issue at hand here. also, people are reaching when they say she hasn't played in 2 years. she literally played in more than one match fr Nebraska her freshman year, even set a 5-1 in one of them. and then it seems she got injured again... but she still had reps in the sand this spring and participated in some of spring training. I know she may not have done all of those things from start to finish but nonetheless, everyone is acting like sh hasn't played volleyball for two whole years before preseason training started which is just not the case. |

I don't think that bunch of recruits passes the eye test versus Plummer/Hentz/Gray/Fitzmorris, but that's ok. I mean, there are #1 classes and there are #1 classes, as their quality and impact varies from year to year.
Maybe the younger Kubik was #1 in some ranking, but off the top of my head, that doesn't seem right. |

It's still TBD at this point for Nebraska, but she could end up being a highly ranked recruit that isn't going to pan out due to medical issues. The "keys to the offense" comment was from December, and I think the media parroted it way too much, especially with Hames' "new role" being ambiguous and the staff making it clear that she was still taking setter reps. I think you're exaggerating. The comments from fall camp were that Orr was "playing like a freshman." She had days where "she was spectacular" and others where she was "like a freshman" and trying to get over some inconsistencies. The "back to her prep days" self does not exist, to my knowledge. |

These are the 10 longest and coincidently the only match threads over 100 pages long (that I could find). This thread is tied for the 6th longest currently (121 pages), and it is the only thread that wasn't an NCAA tournament match. These are from me, avid 2.0 , and rainbowbadger . If anyone knows of any match threads (not international) over 100 pages that aren't on this list I'd be mildy interested to know, though I don't know that there are any.  I looked back as far as 2015 and there were a few in '15-'17 that were in the 80 pages range but that's it.
