Eh, UK always seems to be one of the worst blocking teams amongst the top programs lol.
Debeer and Chaussee abused Grome's block, but that's a serving/rotation problem IMO (because Grome's height isn't going to change overnight). Tealer had an uncharacteristically bad blocking game. I'm actually shocked that Lamb and Rollins only had 1 block between them!? My memory says they did better than that, so maybe they were getting some good block touches (or maybe Jones just isn't that terminal oops).
But yeah, our back court defense (and passing) isn't at a UK level. Honestly, our players look like they've fallen asleep at times in the backrow.
Beavin just does not look nearly as dynamic on defense as last year. Also I was incredibly negative last night but like they really were just crushing my soul over here and it was stupid stuff lmao I thought Walker was really slow last night. I thought Beavin played well. |

A) most on ESPN, but Big 10 network reported it got 375k for Wisconsin/Nebraska last fall. B) being on in so many bars, gyms, etc, I think ESPN has a pretty large baseline audience. When the VB community gets a game on ESPN, 1-2 times per year, we need to do better. C) Kentucky-Louisville is a local game, but it’s two nationally ranked teams with fan bases, and I’m not sure ESPN has the rights to a volleyball game with more potential viewers. I hope I’m wrong. I hope ESPN is thrilled and gives us more, but driving 50k or 100k new tvs isn’t going to make them show more. |

Both teams are going to be in something to prove mode. I’m hoping that brings out the best in each team and the victor prevails. ‘Messy mess we won, however’ volleyball is so this week. |
