a few nights ago they went 5 with Louisville. People are way too quick to write teams off just bc they look abysmal for a non-con match. It’s early.. Idk I'm just not used to seeing Kentucky do so poorly in the pre-conference, like Kentucky literally won a National Championship and to go 5-4 precon and I think (?) no ranked wins is kinda nutty. They also went 5 with Lousville at home, I wonder if it was at Louisville if it would've been different. But like I said before, this is very typical of Kentucky to start slow (albeit not this slow) and pick it up during the SEC... so we'll just see. Wait until you find out about Long Beach State and Pacific's natties.

Results-wise, this preseason isn't really that unique.
I think posters should go back and check UK's previous preseasons. Not sure everyone has an accurate impression.

OK, I know that Nebraska's setting was pretty bad, but did Orr get better as the match went on, or did I imagine that because I want it so bad? If Nebraska is going to continue with the 6-2, I think I would go with Orr as setter #2 (behind Hames, when she returns).

They literally have 2 ranked wins. Lol the sky is not falling here…they just scheduled tough. And have a near .500 record for it. SEC isn’t going to throw at them what they just went through-they’ll be prepared.

kentucky lost to 3 teams that have all been ranked in the top 3 this year, its not the end of the world. they need to be better for longer periods of time, they play good for a stretch and then start to decline. they played a very close match against Louisville too. regardless, whichever top 4 seed gets Kentucky in their regional is not going to be happy about it

Say what you want the Kentucky Alumni Band brought the heat.

I'm just saying, it's just different to see a National Championship team perform poorly 2 seasons after they won. For all we know, Kentucky can win this year but being 1 loss away from 5-5 after winning the natty 2 years ago is definitely underwhelming

So where does this rank NE next week? Loss at home to #9 Stanford but sweeps at #13 Kentucky the same week #3 Louisville goes to 5 sets with Kentucky. Just outside top 10 for me. This win doesn’t tell me as much about Nebraska as it does about Kentucky tbh.

GG Nebraska. As far as Kentucky, I don't mind losing, I just hate the way we consistently choked sets away. Over the last 9 days, whenever UK needed to dig deep they hit a layer of impenetrable granite and nobody could make the play. The passes get worse, the sets are bad, the attacks go wide, the block becomes even swiss cheesier, serves go into the antenna. The first lost set turns into a second. They actually responded to some adversity in set 4 against UofL and I thought maybe they turned some type of mental corner and then we proceeded to hit everything out in the 5th.
My hope is they build up some confidence playing teams not in the top ten and finally get it clicking, because if they don't it might drive me to barbiturate abuse.

Perfectly summed up
