I am surprised about the outrage in this thread. It's clear that Karch did not care about winning this match, just like he did not care about beating China in the VNL. Besides starting non-starters, he subbed in Cuttino, SWP, and Hall at the most random times. I dont know if Serbia had their starters on. If they did, I think the USA A- team did fine. The outrage does not solely come from losing the match, it is the score that is soooo embarrassing, and if you watch the match, it is clearly that everyone on USA is so afraid of Boskovic, from passing, setting, attacking, defense, blocking, it looks like an amateur team compared with Serbia. I remember at the end of set 2, 22:22, and there is an overpass from the opposite..... and karch definitely yells and is sooo angry... Countless exmaples of this happen in set 2 and set 3. This is really horrible. I have not seen such a player in USA for a very long period of time.This is world championship, not VNL, where you can train your new players. I do think Serbia has their starters on, btw, but not sure. |

Yes I think that Miha will not be starters facing USA, so I believe Busa and Lozo should be starters? And also we are not seeing popovic so the two middle blockers are starters too(just my speculation). I still cannot understand how USA beat Serbia in Tokyo with Maja setting and a great great great Boskovic. This is kind of mystery.... I guess Larson and MBH shouldered a lot of responsibility in passing and defense. |

She had a few swings well over 3 meters today and hit one right over Washington |

Serbia outperformed a very under-performing USA team. Karch doesn’t have a plan B, only a player B, and none of those panned out.

Also in the Olympics, USA took Boskovic out of the game and was targeting Busa a lot. I think we won something like 25-14 for Set 2.

Bošković was gassed and getting bad sets and the usa defense in Tokyo was miles better than it is now. That was an outlier performance for her. Not the norm. |
