Does a loss to Cal tonight mark the end of the Sealy/Pendergast years?? We're going 5 ... Sealy still alive

I’m going to go with the Bruins purposefully chose to dial it down so as not to give Stanford a preview of what’s to come . . . That’ll help me sleep better.

It's NIL, not NLI. And it depends on the recruit. Obviously, Nebraska is doing well in recruiting, and that should continue. Personally, you'd have to pay me a ton of money to ever consider moving back to Lincoln. I lived there for five years, and it's an absolute hard pass for me. But not everyone feels the same way I do. That’s a silly thing to correct, but ok. I also don’t think it depends on the recruit. I’d probably bet an average non starter at Nebraska does better than a top player at UCLA. Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t think so. probably not wrong, and also just goes to show you how (like most things in the social media age) incredibly ridiculous NIL can be. Just throwing money at people to essential be on the practice squad for college volleyball. Good for them for getting the cash, surely, but I have a hard time seeing how most athletes actually have a return on investment for the NIL dollars spent on them.

Have no idea the terms of his contract, but it has to happen.
Performance, player development and recruiting/retention are too poor to continue.
Missing the tournament once is unacceptable. Twice. Doubly so.
I don’t think anybody can argue McKissock and Cole improved at UCLA. You could probably argue the opposite.
Only 2 scholarship players in 2023. Only one currently for 2024. Dodson moving on. Luper rumored to be moving on. Who knows who else. It seems the volleyball world knows what UCLA Athletics does not.
Another poster said it best. No reason volleyball should not mirror softball’s success at UCLA. Time for a change.

They celebrated Dodson as a graduating senior against Stanford.

How do you know Dobson is moving on? She was honored on Senior Night and a very reliable source says she's transferring for grad school.

Just like Gates, but she disliked the program so much she didn't even tell them what she was planning. And she got a Natty at Stanford. Or Kylie Miller, but still as an undergrad. Got out as soon as she could and set Minnesota to the National Semifinals. The longer players are in the program the more they want to play somewhere, anywhere, else.

Even players not making the Final Four are having great careers post-UCLA. Will not be surprised to see Luper or someone else join the exodus.

10,000 foot view. UCLA misses tourney in 2018. Athletic Dept recognizes changes need to be made and hires Keller as associate head coach. Keller coaches one season at UCLA then leaves and takes over rebuild at USC in 2020. Two years later USC is rebuilt and UCLA misses the tourney again. Athletic Dept is on the clock . . .

She was. Stanford was out of scholarships. Transfers are so rare they never save one. Hambly said he didn't even talk to Gates until she called him to tell him she was admitted and on campus. She wanted out even if she didn't get to play vb.

She wanted out even if she didn't get to play vb. THIS is probably the core issue with Sealy. Somehow, some way, inevitably, the longer a player is in the program, even if their love for the sport is not snuffed out, they cannot find any enjoyment in playing. The reason doesn't really matter, and I don't think a room full of psychologists could explain it. The man creates a toxic environment.
