this world championship is a way bigger deal to win then whatever tf format they are doing for Paris. That tournament is going to be a joke Pri Daroit was going to be a starting OH in the final (before her injury) I dont think there's any grounds to say that lol what does that have to do with like anything ? She could easily be starting in the Paris final too if Brazil keeps this form….

"this world championship is a way bigger deal" its not. "to win then whatever tf format they are doing for Paris." this format, with no crossovers, is as equally bad "That tournament is going to be a joke" the tournament you're talking about is going to have Pri as a finalist. that's a joke lol

Natalia played as an opposite in an Olympic gold medal match. Tijana Malasevic played in a gold medal match. Do those finals not count for the winners bc bad players played ?

I wasnt the one saying "such and such" was a joke. You were. I was giving a comparison. Whether you like it or not, the Olympics are a much bigger deal than the world championships. They're called an "olympic cycle" for a reason. It's viewed the same by players.

The point is that the Olympics are and always will be a huge prize in this sport. Trying to negate the importance of the event by criticizing the format and calling it a joke when everyone's spent months complaining about the WC format is what is being objected to, I presume.

I'm not downplaying it because they lost, and I wouldn't be exulting if they won. It just isn't really on my radar. But that's just me. I'm not saying you shouldn't care about the event. By all means.

If Lanier won't move to OPP, I think May needs to. I'd prefer Lanier, but I'll take May.
I'd also love to see what Avery Skinner can do at OH.
I appreciate Hentz as a human and what she did in college, but this tournament gave me strong glimpses into her limitations against (some of) the world's best. Unless she does a total JWO 2.0 and turns it up after a meh summer on the national team, I just don't see it.

I think her passing is getting better... her offense needs to be more consistent (her numbers have been good in the scrimmages)

I love her on the left. And she's a great middle back defender.

There are only two tournaments that teams don't take off (some send their A-Team to other events consistently, but that varies). They happen every 4 years (so one major event every 2 years) The World Championship, and the Olympics. They're both a big deal. Yes, the Olympics takes the cake for many reasons. The format for the Olympics is getting worse and in particular this WCh format was bad for no crossover.
I like when teams like Poland get their chance. HCA aside, they swept the USA and gave Serbia all they could handle, but have trouble qualifying for major events. That's why I like the WCh better.
And it's funny how people say tournaments are a joke. Yes, Pri Daroit could be a gold medalist and South Korea was a semifinalist in Tokyo. They're all a joke!

I wonder what the legitimate coaching alternatives would be/are to Karch and what USAV would look like. I'm interested.
