Wow! The PVF created quite the heated debate on Columbus sports-talk radio: fast forward to 1:16:50Before the previous ad break Mike “Common Man” Ricordati had admitted to being burnt out, so it's obvious he was looking for an excuse to vent. But, man, he sounded like the dog biting the hand feeding him as he spread his argument across the entire sports financial landscape. If it wasn't for rich people throwing away money at sports franchises he wouldn't have his current job.

I wish this league would release more info faster. We've been getting crumbs here and there. Give us something more!

In the context of the PVF claiming volleyball is the fastest growing sport in the US.

His rant also spiraled into how much money is spent on failed sports franchises, outrageous player salaries, etc etc etc... and all I could think was "Yeah, duh, and fans needing to complain about it allows 24 hr sports radio stations to exist!" Lol

Ok. February is over and we've got half the teams promised.
Four teams is the bare minimum I would want to play a season, but I think at least two more would be preferable.
If any other teams are announced, they're going to be at a disadvantage as they'll have even less time to promote.

Im far more interested in learning how they're gonna set up the teams.
Getting players will ease them into promoting their teams.
kinda weird they havent announced that last "big market" team...

Yeah. Like I said in an earlier post, starting a league is like herding cats. First is getting ownership. Then the ownership needed to get a place to play. Columbus is a big red flag to me. It doesn't seem the ownership group has any experience with sports and they've said publicly the are "hopeful" to work with Nationwide Arena 😬 I'm wondering how many potential owners are ready, willing, and otherwise able, but are finding roadblocks that make them reticent to announce publicly. I also wonder if that cluster of flags in Texas on that map are all potential places the Dallas ownership might place their team rather than each flag being potential ownership groups.

Doesn't know jack about football, hockey, basketball or any other sport in the Columbus market, but we are stuck with him because who would ever hire him away? His whole schtick is to talk about things other than sports, in order to mask how little he knows about sports. He started out as Mike Ricar-dorky. Then they tried to make him Kirk Herbstreit's sidekick, but Herbstreit quit the radio station in order to get out of it. Then they made him Chris Spielman's sidekick/whipping post for a few years. Somehow he got his own show after that.
