I need more information on the DFW team like… yesterday FINE! I’ll be the president of the club. let me just get my affairs in order. LEAH, YES LEAH EDMOND? Hi yes, this is uofastudent and I would like for you to be the centerpiece of the Dallas Divas. I was with you until the name. Please consider all potential nicknames when naming our team. Not sure how many athletes will want to play for the DoubleDs 😬

Random thought: What are the chances the Fury will take the court to the Ultimate Warrior's ring entrance music?

I was trying to be fast and went the alliteration route🤣 I’m open to any and all name suggestions other than Aggies, Sooners, or Cornhuskers (Red Raiders and Rebels for that matter too)

Well, the league is now two-for-two on Greek Mythology themed branding.

I wanted to post some things after the brand unveiling last night at the Grand Rapids Griffins hockey game for the Rise. First intermission: After a few words, the video that is on the main page of www.grrise.com played on the tron. Immediately after, they took the cloth off an easel that had the primary and secondary logos, as well as the wordmark. They then played "Rise Up" by Andra Day. The crowd popped pretty loud. Judging from the tenor of the cheers, I would say that a lot of volleyball clubs were attending the game last night. During second intermission, the radio broadcast had an interview with Cathy George. They started with her local connections and the respect she gets from those in the community. She complemented her support staff, commenting on how she didn't know what to expect in a professional sports front office environment. They talked about how college volleyball has exploded in popularity and how, in the past, she held "Volleyball 101" classes for her boosters, hinting that the PVF or the PVF teams may need to do the same. They then switched to player talent. She said she had several "high quality" players who have committed to signing in May and that the draft in November will round-out the roster. Pre-season will then start right after the new year. The play-by-play announcer for the Griffins is Bob Kaiser, he is also a member of the Griffins office as VP of Community Relations and Broadcasting. He brought up how things are moving fast with PVF and he predicts that after the Paris Olympics the league will be at 30+ teams and Cathy agreed. They got off topic and talked about how her college-aged kids are playing sports at the local colleges before correcting themselves and got back on track. The season may kick off as early as the last weekend in January. Regular season would conclude in April with the post-season in May. She stated that, depending on the number of teams, they are looking at a 22-24 game season for each team. The only thing I have to comment on all of this, other than my usual gripes about the other ownership groups lack of urgency to get their ducks in a row in time to promote to potential fans, is that starting the season so close to the NFL post-season seems ballsy.

The team had a display up at the Michigan/Michigan State spring match last night and was throwing out free t-shirts between sets. I wish they were selling them, I would have loved to purchase one. Cathy George addressed the crowd during one of the breaks and talked about keeping the best college players in the US and paying them a living wage. She did a great job getting the crowd pumped up. Right now they are just trying to establish their social media presence, work on sponsorships and develop a fan contact database for future ticket sales. I'm hopeful they can be successful!
