Lol the body ain’t even cold yet y’all smh
But I do agree that improving the mental over the off season with some kind of Sports Psychology coach would be something worth looking into for the program.
I feel like this group probably has amassed a lot of pressure being Robyn’s first group of recruits as well as everything that went down between 2019-20 I’m sure there’s an aspect of just wanting to reclaim the momentum of that 2019 season next year’s seniors tasted as freshman.
All aspects of skill need to be improved and we know that’s possible because of what we saw in all the former non starters of last season develop this year.
Sure Akana and Westerberg May not be the offensive answers to get this team to Top 25 territory but they both had their moments this season and will be incredibly solid depth off the bench if that’s what makes the team better.
I have no doubt Tali and Stella will have great careers and will battle it out or share duties on the left if Caylen on the rightside is a stronger option. Tbh I wouldn’t even mind Riley and Caylen on the left to stay if a big arm like Devin wants to come back or another big time RS.
As much as I like Lang and her flashes of brilliance during the season, I don’t know if she’s able to “get up” for these high stakes out of conference games. Good or bad passing, I think she was iffy this year and last season vs Washington.
I hope Matias is able to legitimately contend for the spot next season and maybe that will be the boost Lang needs to be consistently sharp.
Question though,
The returning juniors are all going to be on scholarship. Yet this will be their 5th year of school, 4th year of athletic play. They all lose out on an extra year within the Big West but could it be possible that IF someone transfers, they could lobby the NCAA for 2 years playing in a different conference? Also any possibility of an athlete being taken care of by Boosters (Like Cowell, Gage, Pat, Rado) and it could free up another scholarship?
Just thinking out loud
