Hawaii did not implement a 6-2 in 2015. There were times where Koelsch would spell Higgins in the front row for some size though. No one was going to sub Nikki Taylor out that season since she was a scoring threat from everywhere. I feel like the only game where a hitter just made Lang’s block obsolete was USC’s Skyler Fields but also…it’s Skyler Fields. Even then Hawaii split with them. Lang’s not a terrible blocking presence, just not an ideal one. Just wanted to also say I HATE that that Hawaii/LSU rally is making its way around social media with Lang undersetting Igiede twice in a row and her getting blocked to end the rally 😑 It’s always easy to fixate on the setter when things go wrong, it’s kinda how volleyball is at times. Kate has her struggles but the entire team struggled yesterday. I think a lot of it was LSU just being more ready for Hawaii than Hawaii being ready for LSU. They were also more battle tested by going through the SEC. If LSU were to join the Big West they’d be top 3 in the conference for sure! As far as the blocking, I don’t think Kate is a bad blocker but she needs to employ some better technique(s) to help her be a little more dynamic. I noticed that sometimes she is a little too close to the net and which doesn’t allow her to press. But alas, the season is over and the team can relax, reflect and think of ways to come back stronger. I’m sure Robyn and her staff will also do the same. Not the tournament appearance I expected from Hawaii but overall I’m pleased and enjoyed the 2022 edition of the Rainbow Wahine.

Yikes. I was hoping for them to upset Stanford. Not after this video.

They rarely get to dance so let them have it just for once.

I guess winning with class has gone out the window. I really don't see any reason why they need to post a video when playing Hawaii. We don't have a rivalry with them nor any kind of bad blood. We have players who are friends with players from LSU...... Kate and Paige. Also Amber is said to know some of the players on the LSU team. I mean. I would be disappointed if UH did this because I don't believe that is the proper way to act after you defeated someone. It's like beating someone and then rubbing it in verbally. It borders on childish if you ask me.
I do know that it's on tik tok but I thought this kind of stuff is reserved for rivalry, where there are more intense emotional feeling involved. Oklahoma football did this when they beat Texas because there is a heated rivalry.
We and LSU have no history so it's so weird for them to need to do this.

This year, Robyn did not have many options when a player would go into a funk. Next season, Robyn will have options to go to, if a player goes into a funk. She will have the depth needed, at every position. I do mean, legitimate depth. Next year's team will not be the Amber and Riley show, with a sprinkle of Caylen. Help is on the way in the form of 4 players, incoming players Tali Hakas and Stella Adeyemi, plus redshirt Jackie Matias, and a fully recovered Kennedi Evans. By the way, Robyn compares Stella Adeyemi to 2 Outstanding Former Wahine Outside Hitters, Kanani Danielson and Kim Willoughby. Coming from Robyn, that is saying something.
I just hope Robyn puts together a very tough Pre-Conference schedule. It does not have to be all Power 5 Conference teams, hoping she sprinkles in some Top Mid Major teams also. So that next year's Wahine Team can have a chance of Hosting the 1st and 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament, if not more then that. The Seniors on next year's team deserve it, in my opinion.

Is it really not possible to schedule out of conference matches during the conference season?
Wouldn’t be mad at breaking up rolling through the Big West with a UCLA/USC game when we go to Northridge or a USD game when we go to UCSD.
I know Cal Poly and Santa Barbara give us a run for our money sometimes but the Big West really doesn’t prepare well for the post season.

Or a wish that’ll never happen, invite from Pac12 lol.

Big West is my alma mater conference but it’s not doing my favorite team any good as far as development. Lol if USC/UCLA can make it work going in the B1G, I wish someone in higher up athletics would AT LEAST TRY to make it happen for Hawaii to P12

I don’t think it’s a smart idea to do non conference games in the middle of a conference season. Even if UH is up for it, I doubt UCLA would do it because of the risk of injury in a game that doesn’t count for them.
I guess there is really nothing UH can do. Maybe just turn up the pressure on practice and maybe scrimmage with more men(get a UH intramural club team)during that week.
Creighton is in the same boat like us. They won the Big East, which may be a little better than the BW but still not P5 level of play. They ended up hosting but lost in the first round at home to another SEC team in Auburn.

See but I think even though scrimmaging men more often would get them used to getting blasted, there isn’t the same level of adrenaline that comes with an actual match. I almost want to say, forego the by-week and see who is interested in breaking up the monotony of conference play
