You guys are very confident about the Badgers.
This is PSU. We don't have the winning track record like we do with Nebraska!

I am surprised by the vote totals. I think Badger fan votes are likely 50/50 but the outside crowd is voting in big numbers for Wisconsin.
I think Badgers in five or maybe four if our serving is lit.
Being at home will be key as well.

Smrek is doing a better job lately of getting to the middle more often to hit, where she is more effective, but blocking on the outside, where she is more effective. And the setters are getting her the ball where she can be effective. She's been hitting out of the right better the last few matches, to my eye.

PSU is peaking but so are we. We are 2-0 against their new coach so it is a good start.
We win in the Dungeon no problem.

Ok people, it is supposed to snow Thursday. You gotta show up anyway. Borrow the neighbor's Subaru, walk three miles, do what you gotta do!

Latest forecast on Weather Underground has nothing before match time, and maybe rain, maybe a little snow, maybe freezing for the way home. I currently intend to ride my bike. like (almost) always.

Against all odds I think PSU may pull off the upset here. Nothing to lose and playing care free are dangerous teams.
Their serving will push the needle to the "Risk" side and prevent Wisconsin from running much middle on sideout.
Once Doubt is created ....oh boy.
It's a "may" but they have the physical tools to match up and if they get the defensive line play of late things could get spicy.

Doubt has been created previously with this Badgers squad and they know how to respond. With the emergence of Smrek and a continuation of Wisconsin's high level of serving I feel pretty good about their chances. Penn State will push them no doubt about it.

But these Badger players don't have that baggage. I think they will win in 4 (1st, 3rd and 4th sets, to be precise.) Kash cashes in during the 2nd set.
[Edit: I will bring crosses and holy water in case there is a Micha Hancock siting near the Field House sometime on Thursday.]

Seems that worked out pretty well for them last year. Couple close sets but badgers sweep. PSU has been impressive this year though.

PSU is certainly way better than the team the badgers faced in October. But the badgers won at Happy Valley (only the third time that has happened ever) with a changed roster, and now they have Crawford back. This badger side is more settled than the one PSU saw in State College. It's hard not to favor the badgers given all that, deeper history aside.
That said, PSU is clearly capable of the upset. I'll need to go back to the squeaker before Tday to remember how they exploited the badgers.

IIRC that was the second match of the first weekend of back to back road games and the one right after they had to run a 5 - 1 because of the flu running thru the team and MJ sitting out.

If Kash is on (hitting .375+), and the Lions' are getting past the Wall of Cheese.... I see it being a highly competitive B1G type of affair.
I suspect the bright lights, home crowd, and intensity of the more experienced Badgers will be too much to handle for the inexperienced Lions.
Watching Wisconsin handle TCU in the first two sets was impressive. Seems like everything is firing on all cylinders....; keep feeding Anna the 3-1 ball -- She's unstoppable.
Minny over TOS in 4 Nebraska over Oregon in 4 Pitt over Florida in 5 TX wins in 4 ... barely (28-26, 25-23 in two of the sets) Stanford Sweeps in under 80 minutes San Diego's season comes to a close in a tough 5-set loss to KY L'Ville has little trouble with Baylor

Nebraska is still not right after losing Knuckles and all the drama with their setters this year. I wasn't impressed with Pitt in their second meeting against Louisville. But Louisville can do that to you. Also think it's advantage to Florida having been to Madison already this year even though it was at the Kohl Center. When I was an athlete in a different sport some familiarity was always a good thing. Minny vs Texas is the match I really want to see this weekend. Marquette should feel free to ruin that for me though.
