Nice lil game! I like that Marquette didn’t give up after getting spanked those first 2 sets!

Great win. Kudos to Marquette for not giving up.
Don't forget about this Marquette program. They are not going anywhere. Nearly every important contributor has 2 to 3 seasons of eligibility left, including a player I consider the best setter in the country to build around. Depending on who else they get in, they could easily be next year's San Diego.
That 3rd set win was a great foundation for the Golden Eagles to build on.
That said, Texas is on a mission. Can't let this season end on Saturday. But the Buckeyes are the same kind of ramp up in terms of competition that going from FDU to Georgia, then Georgia to Marquette was.
I can't wait!
Time to watch a lot more great volleyball, especially these two 2v3 matchups.

Texas hitting percentage: .343 Marquette hitting percentage: .098
Yikes. 10 aces for Texas compared to 3 for Marquette. 15 blocks compared to 4.

tip of the hat to Marquette, they represented well after being a bit starstruck in the first set and a half-ish IMO
not great to see Texas drop that many points that quickly in set 3, but Texas refocused and won out. great to see, on to Ohio State.

It's a matter of perspective. I can certainly clear out a room, that's for sure. It's giving "I'm petty and have no friends"

also Marquette appreciation post:
that point in the third set when Anchante faked out Bergmark and set up Bray with no block for a bounce was insanity

my poor BEast.
This Marquette group will be together for the next two years... and lots of opportunities to get better/fill their weaknesses

It's a matter of perspective. I can certainly clear out a room, that's for sure. It's giving "I'm petty and have no friends" It's certainly giving idgaf. Not sure what I have to prove to you. Don't care. I'll admit I failed to recognize my audience. Not the first time. Won't be the last. Some kinds of humor are better received in some places than others. But just because so many people here didn't find it even remotely amusing, and flat out grossly offensive, doesn't mean it changes my view. There's a strong contrarian urge in me that often finds it even funnier when people don't receive my humor well, although my intent is more to be edgy and create sharp gasps of a kind of "did he just say that?" than it is to truly make people walk away not wanting to have anything to do with me. Although that's certainly okay, too. But there's also a little bit of I should be seeking some kind of approval or permission from some of you that's not compelling in the slightest, either. But I'm good with you saying your piece. I'm glad you've had an opportunity to register your disapproval.

Gonna have to be the portal, besides like Autumn Bailey way back when, Marquette’s top players usually take time to develop, they’re not top-100 players.
Allie Barber, Taylor Louis, Jenna Rosenthal etc. took some time to develop. They end up being really solid players, but the window is next two years.

Wait, Marquette actually won a set?!?!. Didn't just win. They actually dominated. Texas had to stretch just to make it respectable at 25-19. It wasn't as close as that score would indicate, and that's not that close of a score in the first place.
