I'm watching ESPN+'s The Fifth Set, the tournament wrap-around show that jumps from match to match. One of the commentators is a Gopher alum, but I didn't catch the name. Anybody know who that might be? They are just in conversation and mentioned she was an alum, but they never appear on screen (or haven't thus far) It’s the lovely Nicole Branagh! |

Really surprised Avery Jesewitz hasn't committed anywhere... maybe she doesn't want to play in college? I'm not sure her ceiling is as high as others but i would gladly accept her on the '24 Gopher roster. |

I see some of the games are ending up on YouTube. I think we have a great draw and should beat Utah State 3-0. If Creighton makes it no worse than 3-1. But I'm looking for a sweep there.

First VT post and just in time, les go Gophs! Ideal spot in the bracket if there is one and optimistic for this evening but, as a MN sports fan, cautiously so. I think most metrics and opinions favor the U at least a tad but am assuming the smaller USU will be come out swinging. Hoping for a sweep, expecting a four setter with an ugly set or two, dreading an early exit. Knock on wood~

Lydia Grote was THAT GIRL this match. Carried the team on her back towards the end. They need to keep her hot. Can’t wait to see her work tomorrow, hoping it’s Creighton to get redemption. Last time out against Creighton beginning of the season, Grote with off with 20 kills despite the loss. She’ll be a target, but this Minnesota team rallies together👏🏻

IMO KCook seriously has to consider starting Hanson and not Wucherer. The Gophers cannot afford to have both Landfair and Wucherer not performing. Offensively...we don't have a middle game nor anybody who can seriously be a threat in the back court, if and when they get set and/or are ready for it.

Landfair struggled more than Wucherer. I cringe when I see a 3 pass and a set to the outside where the blockers are camping out. Serve and pass. MNs problems all season. |
