IF Wenaas leaves, Crowl needs to step up on the right side. She has so much potential to be very dangerous, and hopefully she's coached to be aggressive. Then we need some excellent littles from the portal. I don’t want to jump the gun, because there’s no news to speak on at this time. However if we’re hypothetically speaking: I can tell you right now Schnichels would have much better odds at winning the spot over Crowl (if they didn’t grab a one year stop gap from the portal). She’s long, a dynamic attacker with a very wide hitting range across the court, and a strong blocker. Brings a positive and collected energy to her team too. You’ve seen what Crowl is at this point. Aggressiveness as a player is inate, you either have it or you don’t. It’s not something that’s suddenly going to be “taught” to her after 10+ years of playing volleyball. She’s a good team culture asset who belongs on the bench and used only as a situational sub on a team of the caliber of Minnesota.

Jenna being gone seems quite likely at this point. I really hope I’m wrong. She does so much for the team.

Seriously? How many times have we seen Crowl? Maybe three times?
Not saying there wouldn't be a competition for that spot, but slow your roll...

Someone much earlier on a thread mentioned how the Jenna Wenaas situation is becoming more like Adanna Rollins' two years ago and I agree. But oh how I want her to stay.

She started (note this doesn’t count matches where her position started in the back row, with a DS) in 6 matches.

In what way is it becoming like the Rollins situation? My guess is that people see Wenaas as similar to Rollins in terms of being the best ball-control OH, if not the most terminal. Therefore, some are predicting her position (at least on the left side) being in jeopardy. Of course I can see the differences too, which I won’t go into.

I thought you were referring to the off the court stuff and I would disagree that it’s similar in that way. I don’t think her position as a starter is in jeopardy what so ever, it’s just if she’s willing to keep playing on the right or not.

Let me clear my earlier statement, if I can.
It was my understanding that the U of MN could not offer the two more years or something like that which Adanna was seeking in scholarship money to remain playing at the U of MN.
Idk, but thought there is a possibility Wenaas could be in a scholarship situation too. She was committed to, I believe, Texas A&M, and decommitted and became a Gopher instead. Does the U of MN split their scholarships up? Maybe Jenna is now in that same boat. JUST SPECULATING because we also need to recruit experienced DS/L players. Plus we have two more recruits joining the Gopher Volleyball program next semester.

She was the #3 recruit in her class, I think she could’ve gone anywhere else if MN only offered her 2 years

Yeah, let's not jump the gun here. It all started with a gut feeling and it's turned into "quite likely leaving". I'd guess she's on full scholarship, let's just wait and see...

let me understand since I don't look at players' instagrams or tweets... did she go in Instagram and make a post today, after the coaching announcement, about her league honors, and didn't say anything about Cook? If so, then that speaks volumes.

If so, then that speaks volumes. Yes, all the other players reshared the post on the Cook hiring and some have since reshared memes about him/John Cook and some even shared his video of him tonight at the Pav. Only thing Jenna has shared is resharing GopherVb’s Instagram post about her all region honors from the Austin regional. That’s where a lot of the suspicions have been coming from, I think. But who knows she probably hasn’t even met the guy yet no need to jump to conclusions.
