It would be a nice solstice gift.

Some decent middles in the portal - Jess Robinson, McGhee, Robie. With Demps gone, maybe Robinson and Smrek stay out right and it makes sense to pick one up to make sure the Hart space is filled. Wrobel competes for the other outside spot. Otherwise Wrobel will have to move left and there won't be any backup at the pins. The argument for this approach is that the setters only have to adjust to one change, instead of several. They can focus on developing connections further and expanding offensive options. (Also, I hope Demps actually stays in the end - I know it's a long shot because she will get offers, but I like that kid). I would love if Demps ends up staying! That would be our dream; Demps is one of our favorites and there was always a big cheer from our neck of the balcony when she got put in this year. It's also active hypocritical selfishness on my part: I love the portal when its in our favor and always just want the fun players coming in and not going out.

I hope so. That block would be formidable.

Booth has been on my wish list since their coach announced retirement.

Who in this scenario would sit? As potential front row players in MB or Opp you have Beason, Booth, Smrek, Robinson, Crawford. Unless Beason would play left but I dunno if that would happen.

Rotate the three, giving one a set off to keep them fresh. Frank & Julia both seemed a bit worn down the last two matches, and having extended breaks could have helped keep them from fading.

Well, since nothing has changed yet, I’ll just fantasize about it for now. But honestly, If Sheff can sign up either one of these kids, I’d be ecstatic. I think Booth OR Beason slide into a starting role without a great deal of disruption to projected A’s on day1 in 2023. And the team gets much more formidable. The only downside if any (selfish) is Wrobel still ends up fighting for playing time.

I also wonder if you diminish a foreign player's role too much if they consider just going home.

Does Beason wanna play left is more my question? I mean she’s a 6 rotation player so she can obvs do it and would be great blocking on the left side.

I would run a 3-Middle Offense if Booth joined the party.... With Anna the true middle in the sequence
Orzol Libero -- trust me....
